We're making a huge Ghostbusters toy firehouse playset themed outdoor playhouse for our junior Ghostbuster action figure. To make this extreme Ghostbusters firehouse we are drawing inspiration for the design off the Ghostbusters filming locations and the Ghostbusters toy firehouse playsets like Playmobil, LEGO, and The Real Ghostbusters Kenner classic firehouse playset. The exterior of the Firehouse building in New York, Hook & Ladder Company 8 and the interior of the Fire Station No. 23 in Los Angeles. The fire stations have been a filming location for several other shows and movies but as the home base for the Ghostbusters what better fire station could you model from for a kids playhouse. We also got a few ideas from looking over our sons Ghostbusters firehouse Playmobil set and the LEGO Ghostbusters Firehouse Headquarters images online. We will be posting a series of videos of all the construction update videos and details of how we make this playhouse. We plan on incorporating one or two playset action features with the slides, climbing wall, swings, monkey bars, rope, fireman's pole, and any other playground equipment we can find a great deal on. We would love to also incorporate some other items from the Ghostbusters movies like a ghost ecto containment unit, electrical shut off switches, wood equipment lockers, wood railing, Slimer ghost with slime splats, The Stay Puft Marshmallow Man, Janine's desk, Egon's lab table, dark room, Ecto-1 area, and much more. This video focuses on the construction details of the firehouse façade walls, three levels of decks held together by bolts and coffin locks, how they are assembled and some of our plans and design ideas for this extreme Ghostbuster playhouse. We are super excited to work on this custom toy playset playhouse project so please stay tuned and join us on this new adventure.

Id do the slide fire engine red, with a stream of slime flowing down the center. And the arms on the sides would be ecto streams from the GB guns, maybe with some LEDs or something

Thank you Scott I remember the tree forts we used to make growing up in Alaska. They were really just a platform up in a birch tree. We just hammered a couple rusty bent nails through some old fence boards for the ladder. It was some pretty shady construction but hey we had fun and managed not to get hurt. That's what counts right.

Absolutely! I know how challenging it is to do a thing, and also how challenging it is to film a thing, much less doing both together simultaneously! I can tell you from experience, a tripod might make life easier in some ways while filming, but it gets you in the editing process because there’s so much more to remove! Maybe when it’s all done you could put a few clips together for a time lapse? That’d be cool!

I always try and use what you got but if you can make it lighter it really does help. The light stuff when braced and weighed down feels safer to me also.

Hey thanks guys nice hearing from you. Believe it or not the plexiglass is just 1/2 acrylic we used to cover logos in a light box people could walk over. It has a little flex but works great. It does'nt scratch up too bad considering the wear and tear. You can always pay more for Lexan but it scratches easy and can turn a yellowish tint over time. Just need to be careful drilling holes in the plexi. Go slow and helps to use plexi bits.
