He, as well as all the other actors, were placed in contracts tgat made it next to impossible to get other work. 2. When he left tge show, he was too recognizable as Superman, that it was difficult to find work. So it wasn't tge public who screw him over, it was a bunch of filmmakers that gave him crappy terms and his agents who couldn't get him a gig for idiotic reasons. Plus, a incident like this only happened ONCE and it was a eight year old kid. Unless you can tell me another similar icident, this wasn't happening enough to where it was a main cause of his mental stability. It was all just job stability.

I really like Affleck's acting here. The change of expression when he realized that the gun was real and loaded, it's just like he wasn't acting. Also, the way his character tried to reason with the kid, it's just brilliant. One of the comment mentioned that it really happened to George Reeves, and he tried to stop the kid by saying a very similar reasoning. If it's true, I salute him to make up words under a life-threatening situation like that.

When Ben Affleck has a really well done environment and clean scenes, it's clear he is very talented as an actor. In my opinion, he did his parts well as Batman and DareDevil, but mostly it's the fact that DD was shot in the early era of comic movies. And as Batman he was in the then Snyderverse, now Nolanverse? I get it confused, not to be insensitive, it's just been a long time and I haven't been keeping up. And that whole tangled ball makes no sense anymore. Seeing him in that George Reeves situation, it made it feel more real. Especially seeing as he clearly saw from the front it was loaded. Shows an experienced individual in showmanship right there.

It should have certain nods, including attending a kid’s birthday party simply because he’s such a good sport. Ya before I even clicked on the clip I was thinking to myself how Ben probably would have made a better superman than batman because his body and face are shaped more like superman. Also I think he does better with the more subtle nice guy acting rather than the more intense angry batman stuff.

This is one of the most amazing scenes to me cause it honestly just shows how an actor deals with the fiction and reality of situations in dire ways. I absolutely love Hollywoodland and imo it’s still one of Ben Affleck’s best performances of his career.

Best and most frightening scene in the movie…Ben Affleck’s acting reaction here is realistic… but what also adds to it is the gun looks like a .38 snub nose, small, but in the hands of a little kid, it looks like a big gun… the sight of those bullets in the revolver chamber makes it even more frightening as knowing it is a real loaded gun that can go off anytime.

I realized that biopic came out on the same year, "Superman Returns" did, which "Superman Returns" was distributed by Warner Bros., the movie studio that owns the comic book company that owns Superman, DC.

It's interesting WB put some restrictions on this film's production for example the promotional material (trailers, posters, DVD packaging) couldn't include the 'S' from the iconic Superman suit and no footage from the actual "Adventures of Superman" series could be used. Technically Hollywoodland could've probably gotten away with using material from the public domain "Stamp Day" special but the director and editor may not have realized that loophole.
