That might be true, but it also depends on your face. To say ut bluntly, Kiara already has a quite anime-esk face, she really only needs to put up eye liner and so on and then put a wig on and looks like out of an Anime. Girls with other face forms have it much more difficult.

It's not like most of Kiara's fanbase doesn't already know what she looks like (she's been recognized at multiple Hololive events), and anyone interested in what the rat looks like can find out with just a little digging.

Honestly, I would love to meet a cosplayer with an Australian accent. Like, imagine, you see someone all dressed up in Cosplay. Can be any character, or even just a specific dress they like. And when you say hello to them, you just get a big GOOD DAY MATE right back. Honestly, 10/10 experience

@@pufnbal1744its awesome here and its definitely easy to travel to. Just be prepared because the weather in australia is controlled by a baby prone to tantrums with it storming, hailing and scorching all in the span of 3 days.

For a few years, I went to Japantown in San Francisco for their annual Cherry Blossom Festival as a photographer. There were always tons of cosplayers. One time, I got to see the gothic lolita fashion show and talk with some of them afterwards. The sheer amount of effort and detail that goes into those outfits is insane. Sometimes I'll see one of them on the subway, and they look so out of place. I'm sure Bae could pull the look off if she wanted, but it's not for everyone.

i love the wide range of fashion we get. here is bae talking about gothic lolita fashion, and we have gura/fauna with cottagecore, and i've heard others talk about brands and styles

0:25 Pretty sure this is 地雷系: literally "land mine type", it's a class of Japanese fashion that is defined by a "this girl means trouble" appearance, encompassing, but not limited to, goth, emo, frills, and leather.

Yeah that fashion style is very cutesy and too menhera for bae. Bae probably looks too mature for the jirai kei style. Especially because of her body type and genetics. Being a shortstacked aussie, I doubt she could pull off the slender and almost unhealthy look of the jirai kei style. Though she is very likely to be able to pull off some incredible outfits that most japanese are completely unable to do.

And one of the handful of members that others describe in any way besides just saying they are "cute" (nothing wrong with that of course, and they want to avoid saying anything specifically distinguishing about anyone, but multiple members have been extra inspired in their descriptions after meeting Bae specifically).

0:25 I like how she just drop a Japanese term and just moved on 😂 but recent Japanese naming style is kind of brutal. Jirai Kei Make up (landmine type makeup, or "red flag type" make up), meaning (from guys perspective) a type of make up that guys shouldn't approach/get in a relationship with, hence why I translated as "red flag". It kind of just look like a mix between goth/lolita/E-girl to me. There's also, Ryousan kei (Mass produce type), basically girls who keep up with current-trend fashion.

Usually Lolita is the kind of thing that you need a full dress on. You need different wigs and make-ups to fit, and it did take a lot of time, like 3 hours+ to prepare it.

I can face paint but self-face paint is a whole different level of difficulty. It took me hours of prep rather than minutes.

Cosplay takes a lot of time and effort when you have high standards for yourself. It's very easy to want your cosplay to be perfect, and you get into your own head. Getting the wig set up and looking nice is a long process, and then you have to do any makeup. This is assuming you ordered a cosplay, but even then, you have to make slight alterations and adjustments. It's massively rewarding and honestly super fun. Even if it's "low quality." Just trying and having fun with it is enough

"Takes an hour to dress to go out." Meanwhile guys will be woken up by their alarm, fall off the bed into a pile of miscellaneous clothes on the floor, wriggle their way into jeans they've worn for two weeks, and they're up and ready to go in 5 minutes. I don't know if we need to raise the standard for guys or lower the standard for ladies but the dispairity of acceptibility can be so vast that something should probably change.
