There are soo many good choices out there, that it would be impossible to try them all… but I stayed with the German theme on mine, and went with the Steiner MRS on mine ( B&T mount) And have been really happy with the choice.

I’m a bit late to the party but am curious if Steiner MRS and B&T mount provided a absolute ci-witness sight picture?

@@tommy-katana3615 there is no co witness… there are two completely different sight pictures. Thats what a see through mount provides. Thats what I went with. But B&T makes about 6 different models.

Nice set up! My only issue with optics on the SP5 is i find i always tear up my knuckles on the mount. Ive seen some like the B&T mount that look as though the edges are more rounded, but i havent tried it yet

I have an S&B universal mount on a 91 model. The edges have some beveling but its still pretty blocky.

A couple thoughts for you. First, a shorter mount like the b&t low mount will give your fingers clearance. Secondly, practice using the front of the cocking lever for locking back & releasing so your hand is never near a mount. Good luck a practice will solve your problem in 10 minutes!

Is the sight co-witnessed with front sight or is the red dot slightly above the front sight ring?

with that mount, the dot sits above the sight blade but below the sight ring....I would not call it a cowitness set up as it isn't set up to use the rear diopter

I have the B&T low profile extended mount on my SP5. I am wanting a Trijicon MRO but don’t know what mount to get with it. Low? , 1/3?, Full, etc.. What would you recommend for me? Home defense & plinking at the range is my primary use. Thank you!

Im in the market for an SP5 low mount, particularly one that wont bang my knuckles when charging the handle back. Any suggestions besides the $400.00 HK mount?

Banging knuckles on a full size 5 vs the k should not be an issue unless you have some kind of orangutan hands 😉

Bit off topic but just picked up my new SP5 and noticed a bit of play in the cocking tube/handle. If I shake the gun it will rattle slightly as it moves back and forth about 1/8” front and back. It doesn’t really bother me but how much play is normal?

It’s normal, after a while you won’t notice it

The cocking handle & support “floats” in the cocking tube and has play by design….your gun is normal! Cheers!
