A trick to avoid removing the thermostat is to drop it into the radiator's radiator pipe which is right below the thermostat! In fact, you can join the 2 pipes of the radiator together so that it doesn't risk getting clogged when you drop it in for the repair!!

Good product,about 3 years ago solved my naza ria cooling water enter into the engine oil issue (Teh tarik susu ) still working great untill now. This time solved my Volvo S80 cooling water enter into the Engine combustion chamber issue ( Daily +/- 0.8 liters of water missing )

after flushing the system can i put wonderweld straight into the expasion tank...i dont see why not ?

Apparently it works best when it falls right on top of the cylinder head! there are other products for the expansion tank such as K-seal

My thermostat is in the bottom of the engine, a Subaru outback, I guess I dont need to take the thermostat out because I can pour in the top hose and It is behind the thermostat already????

To work well it obviously needs to drop into the cylinder head so you can drop it into the pipe that comes out of it and goes to the water cooler.

What a bunch of lies xD I'm not saying it doesn't work at all but it is a shit repair CERTAINLY NOT PERMANENT ! I've used various sealants and to me k-Seal worked the best so far. Perhaps this one works too, but so far have not fixed my van today while K-Seal have in past many times on different vehicles. Showing that it 'looks for leaks' is a joke xD It just clogs wherever it can and once there is enough of this deposit everywhere (not only on the section shown here like clean weld, which is a total joke ^^' Te reasone You take out the thermostat is that it may clog it, but certainly it works so much better if You apply it directly inside the engine - no doubt. Peronally I would advice to take a piece of tube and aplly it on the cylinder loosing compression - sometimes You can find out which one is the most fucked unpluging them - the one making least difference once unplugged indicates most faulty gasket/cylinder section - try to apply it directly in there with the tube if You can. What You should NOT DO: Apply it to expansion chamber hoping that it will work as it won't, or just a bit and You will need a lot more of it to do any actual fix. Personally regardless of engine size I go for at least 500ml of sealant as usually less then that won't make much difference. Whay I like K-seal more ? Once it's in the cooling system it can stay there and fix over and over again and it works like that until You wont pour in clean coolant/water as than once seal breaks again it's the same story again, but your engine is all messed up more and more with next treatments providing worse cooling and higher chance of clogging thermostat or heater.
