My question is: how does it affect cortisol? Does it lower it or raise it? I am afraid to use any adaptogens because I have adrenal fatigue (low cortisol) and I tried ashwagandha and it lowered so much my cortisol that all my insomnia and anxiety came back and I had to go back to xanax and antidepressants and sleeping pills. It took me 6 months to recover and now I don't sleep best yet. Plus I have Hashimoto's. Adaptogens are very tricky because they influence cortisol.

Do we know if it’s true that it can cause infertility and if so is it temporary while you’re taking it or permanent? I just read something about possible infertility

Hi, does Tulsi help with insomnia?

It does for some people. I suggest trying it.

Thank you so much! You are an expert! Holy Basil is a wonderful herb for me for anxiety. Only problem is that I seem to have developed tolerance to it. I've haven't been able to experience the same effects as the first time I took it. This seems to happen with a lot of herbs for me. Do you know if there's any way to fix this. Maybe it's an absorption issue? Or maybe my liver enzymes are just better at breaking it down? It's really too bad.

If your anxiety is caused by a neurotransmitter dysfunction the you will respond to a herb that affects that chemical in your brain. Holy Basil acts like an MAOI which boosts the use of dopamine in your brain. And the same for acetylcholine. So if your anxiety is caused a problems with dopamine and/or acetylcholine I suggest trying another way to do this. Use a precursor to boost dopamine (L-Tyrosine) and one to boost acetylcholine (Alpha GPC). And see if either of this bring you relief. If either one does then keep on using it. And forget about herbs for now.

@@NootropicsExpert Thank you! That makes sense, I’ll definitely try that.

I have holy basil Tulsi oil organic how many drops wd be safe ?
@NootropicsExpert4 жыл бұрын
Angel, Holy Basil essential oil has been found to be toxic in animal experiments. Never been tested in humans that I'm aware of. So I'm not sure that any is safe. And why I've only got recommendations for Holy Basil powder and extract.
@shantinaturechild63853 жыл бұрын
Thanks for this presentation! I'm just drinking some Tulsi infusion. When l was going to buy Tulsi essential oil, there was also the warning on the website not to ingest it because of the alleged toxicity which is really ridiculous seen that you would have to take 42,5ml per 1 kg of body weight (in rodents) to be toxic. Someone weighing 50kg would have to swallow over 2liters in one sitting to be killed by Tulsi essential oil hence 1 drop will hardly cause any harm whatsoever in my opinion and logical conclusion.
@NootropicsExpert3 жыл бұрын
Shanti, if the manufacturer suggest NOT taking it internally I would go with their recommendation. Because essential oils are often produced using toxic chemicals.

If I can get a finely-tooled hairdoo as this Dude, I will eat a bag of Tulsi every day! Dave speaks of albino rats improving their plight on Holy Basil......now picture the rats with Dave's silver foxy hairdoo....I know you can! Seriously, I am growing Tulsi, as we speak, and plan to disperse it to our small village. Dig in, and grow it for You and those you care about! Good Luck!
