HOLY PERCH! 😳 Metonga Lake cleanup dive in Crandon, Wisconsin.

Silent J and I were headed back from a cleanup dive in the Wisconsin River in Rhinelander, WI and decided to stop at Metonga Lake in Crandon, WI for another cleanup. I’m sure glad we did! That place is PHENOMENAL!

Back in the olden days, 1950s and 60s, people would use an engine block as mooring stone with a line from the block to a buoy on the surface that you would moor a sailboat or other deep water boat to. I'm planing on going to Metonga next week. Thanks for the preview! And thanks for what you do Ed.

Do you ever contact local DNR to let them know what you see as far as fish? Like the bullhead minnows they want to grt rid of.

My guess on the engine block is that it was used to moore a portable slalom waterski course. I bet about 1200 feet away there was another very heavy object. If someone knows that general location and has seen a ski course in the area, it's a good bet that's what it's for. Still useable. Not recommending doing that, but I've heard plenty of times that this was the way to get a heavy enough object.
