I love these videos but I find Jack's voice a little monotone to listen to for hours and hours tbh - huge respect to the guy though, he's an incredible and inspirational musician/producer

The fact that Jack started with David Williams brings a level of unexpected joy to my heart that I've only previously experienced when picking up a kitten for the very first time. So many under-appreciated rhythm guitarists out there and he's in the top tier.

I've had the same strings on my bass for 15 years and haven't cleaned any part of it for probably 10, I make a point of never looking at it closely because it's probably got concentrated ebola by this point.

High Pressure = "Darty Eyes Or Something" New phrase for me. I think it is his metaphor for being nervous. A fluttery stomach is another; nervous state means you are not relaxed and worried about criticism. For all performers; they have days they still do their best despite that nervousness.

I'm right with you on this unheralded style and these brilliant purveyors of it: those who choose to use the electric guitars' rhythmic capabilities and go beyond treating it like a bad-sounding saxophone. But I would like to add a couple important, somewhat unheralded rhythm players: Tony Maiden (Rufus) and Sugarfoot (Ohio Players).

Some great players... I wouldn't limit the list to 3 but I get it the Holy Trinity.. Even though he owes a lot to Niles for starting that style... Prince is my ulttime fav rhythm player.. Nile's being my 2nd.. Love the pinky harp.. and nope I can't imagine..
