I'm from nova scotia, I got the same one off Amazon, I had an oem carb kicking around so I put that on and then I split the cases and put some skf bearings in it its what husky uses from the factory, and then I boight a hyway pop up piston and cylinder kit, then I bought a couple rubber peices and plastic peices like the intake boot and choke lever stuff to make it more reliable so far im around 650 700 bucks into it and its an awesome reliable saw, new oem saw for me after tax is 1600 bucks so to me its worth taking 2 or 3 hundred bucks and upgrading some oem parts on it

I got mine from Amazon as well, was 350 ish and then I bought a 28inch holzfforma bar and chain on Amazon at the same time for 100 even. No duties when it comes from Amazon but if you get something off ebay or somewheres else you will get duties and the bigger the package the bigger the duty fee it seems. Update on my saw, I split it back down and put a used oem crank in it so now basically the only Chinese parts my holzfforma has is the cases and plastics etc. Everything else is oem and its just like an oem saw very happy with it

Excellent review! I ordered one from China during the last sale. It's been on my wish list for a while but when I saw the sale price I couldn't resist. I used to have a Husky 395 and it was a beast, both in power and weight. I wanted something to try a little bit of chainsaw milling and my other saws are just too small. I think my expectations are reasonable. I'm looking for recommendations for common upgrades to improve reliability first and performance second. I'd heard about the carburetor issues and a couple of others. Thanks for the video !

I just recently bought the Neotec version of this saw. The "torch" spark plug lasted less than an hour....LOL. I thought it might be a coil problem...checked the spark plug and it had zero continuity. I too was having problems tuning it and it turned out that the decomp valve was bad and leaking pretty severely also. I'm still in the process of breaking it in and tuning it. I've only used for about an hour or 2, so I'm still tinkering around with it. I'm gonna check it for air leaks with the spray. Mines still tuned a little rich running which is what I want for break-in. Your saw seems to be running like an animal with that pipe on it. I didn't think I'd want or need a pipe since the stock muffler comes with no baffles in it, but I'm first gonna try opening up the muffler I got, and if that's less than satisfactory, I'll probably weld up one of those ironhorse pipes. The little problems with these saws can be a challenge at first, when you're expecting the thing to run well out of the box. But, I bought it to tinker with and I'm getting exactly what I wanted.

Hello Marcel. It sounds like you are having a similar experience so far. It took me some time to get this saw dialled in but once I fixed up a few minor things, it runs really well. You will see a lot of “pipe haters” on the internet saying they don’t do anything but make noise. This may be true if the pipe isn’t build well but in my experience these pipes definitely create a sustainable power band and snappy throttle response. I have pipes on a few others saws on the channel. Check those vids out. All the Ironhorse design. If you are able, i definitely suggest at least trying one. You decide if you like it. Thanks for sharing your information and watching the vid. Stay Well ✌️

Great review. I’ve only just bought one tonight, so it should arrive in a week or two, hopefully. Mine is from a different company and it’s called Perla Barb (372 XP) the company that supplies these usually puts a better bar and chain etc on the ones they sell. I actually bought a 62cc from them before and it’s my go to saw, rather than my Sthil saws. It’s a great chainsaw. Hopefully mine will be ok?. Great review, my friend.

Hey Wayne. Just up having a coffee and read your comment. Thank you for the positive feedback ✌️. Since the review I have had no further issues with my 372xp. It’s been running great. I had a few bugs to work out at the start with it but nothing major. I have not heard of Perla Barb yet. Hopefully your new saw runs great. It’s all about keeping your expectations real. If you have issues with these they are usually not huge and totally fixable. You can’t beat the price that’s for sure. Come back to the channel and let us know how the Perla Barb holds up. Take care and thanks again 👍

The pipe helps a lot with sustaining power in your cut. New chain will stretch a bit your first few outings. Eventually it will have less stretch. Farmertec gets a bad wrap for the stretch on their chains but I’m not finding they are any different that the big players chains. 🤷‍♂️ . Take care ✌️

I got lucy mine came out the box fired up on the 3rd pull and tuned up without an issue. I think they test run them at the factory mine came straight from China and also could tell it had fuel in it at some point. Paid $235 with free shipping so for that you won't hear me complaining. Does it have the quality of my Husqvarna 272xp, no, but it's 1/4 of the price and I like to tinker. Actually, I end up working on my STIHL 026 more than my Holzfforma. They continue to keep improving on their quality so the later you buy one the better saw you get.

I have my trusty Yugoslavian made 266 and 770 i inherited from my late father, and ill keep those ones as a backup and a keepsake since they are in mint condition, and i'd rather be busting up a $300 clone than learn to fell and cut firewood with a $1200 saw.

I think where OEM parts are a good idea is when the Stihl or Husky that you really want aren't made anymore and are either super hard to find or too expensive. The you can buy a clone saw of that Stihl or Husky you really wanted and put OEM parts in it as needed to make it dependable and run better. For me I just bought a clone of the Stihl 200t, because I used to have that Stihl saw and loved it when I had it. Now they are too expensive, so I bought the G111 a clone of that saw and I only intend on buying OEM parts for it if that seems like the only way to really fix an issue with it. But I'm buying it because I want one, not because I have a serious need for a top handle saw. But I plan on keeping it for along time unless somehow a miracle happens and someone gives me a Stihl ms200T as a gift. Because that's the only way I'll ever be able have a Stihl ms200T again. Lol My advice for those that have a serious need for a saw, is to buy a Stihl pro saw or the Husky equivalent so you are getting a serious saw that you can depend on. Also I suggest doing your research on the saws before going to buy one and I suggest you go through a dealer and not a box store. At least that's what I did when I bought my Stihl saws years ago. Great video. I appreciate your honest opinion on the saw and why you chose it. I'm glad it helped you decide that you really like it and that size would be useful enough to be worth saving up to buy a Husky version for dependability. 😎👍

those clones are hot and cold, you read a lot of good comments on the many channels that review these saws...then there are also the ones that have trouble. It is a saw for a guy able to work on it for sure. Quality control in the Chinese stuff is awful, just awful. I have heard there are many manufacturers of parts and the spec tolerances one maker to the other varies. The sellers of the complete saws source from all these different manufactures and assemble saws with parts that have wide ranging manufacturing specs. Knowing the tendency for Chinese goods to be a crap shoot put me off for a long while, but over the years they kept making improvements up to the point about a year or two ago some well respected names in the power saw world admitted these saws are the real thing now. I decided to buy one, just for fun and my tactic was to just replace the most often mentioned weak points with upgrade parts, stuff made outside China, but not necessarily genuine OEM Husky parts. I ended up with a big bore Hiway cylinder and piston, a new chain tensioner, new oil pump and a OEM carburetor for the carb manufacturer....can't remember if it was Tillotson or Walbro but the real Mc coy is on it right now. Never even started the delivered saw, went right to full tear down, inspection of everything and reassembled with the upgrades. Extra money into it yes, but I am still well under half the cost of OEM Husky. I see no reason the saw would be a liability now, except that the claim is made that the crankshafts and rod are soft, I have an aftermarket upgrade for that too but not yet installed.

just offering you a tip, I went on the Holzforma web site, ordered a ton of backup parts, plastic parts, springs, engine, everything that could be an issue at some point, super cheap, a $100 order will give you a huge depth of replacement parts for engine and chassis. I did this back in February 2023, there were a lot of the parts out of stock at that time so have no clue how availability would be now?@@Northofsomething82

I own a real deal 395xp that I paid $1700 out the door with a big bar was over 36 inch I forget… I absolutely fell in love with it… I did notice that it is made in Brazil… I was disappointed to see new husqys are coming out of Brazil so I said to myself screw it I love the saw soo much I should consider a 372xp…. So out on a venture to find a brand new 372xp I surfed the web and everywhere I looked the price of a 372xp was just a few hundred bucks cheaper than my 395… so I said to hell with spending another $1500 on a saw… then one day on eBay I saw a clone from China of a 372xp for $220 brand new with no bar.. I said shit for $220 I’ll take the gamble and get to review it myself and use it for science reasons if it works it works.. so I got the saw took the base gasket off didn’t break it in at all and put it straight to work… all I have to say is wow. For what I paid I couldn’t complain. I told myself if the top end blows so what?? I can buy a genuine husqy cylinder and then see what breaks next… would I rely on this for a living? Hell no. Would I buy this for the mere enjoyment to custom build/hot rod absolutely and I think anyone who’s into the hobby of chainsaws should… people seem to forget China has been producing parts for a lot of these big manufacturers.. the Chinese graduate for engineers annually than America.. they are catching up and quick I do hate the idea of supporting communism but then again even when you buy a real deal stihl or husqy I can assure there’s some parts from China.

Its not a clone. Holtzfforma own the rights to munufacture the saw as they purxhased those rights when husky discontinued the 372 xp. Fir a better version get the 372xp pro which is mainly italian parts of the best quality. I also have had a better experience with husky than stihl which are fragile and have worse carb. The issues you raise with the cap and pull cord are the same ones i have had with my genuine husqvarna
@Northofsomething82
@Northofsomething82 11 ай бұрын
You are correct, holtzfforma did buy the patent of the Husqvarna 372xp and are producing clone saws of the Husqvarna version. The definition of “clone” is “to make an exact copy or replica of something”. Indeed they did and this is why Husqvarna OEM parts are interchangeable. Husqvarna was the origin of the patent and Holzfforma cloned it with the purchase and manufacturing of the patent. As for the issues with the saw, I’m not saying it’s a bad saw only sharing my experience that I have had with the saw. Most of the review is positive. Thank you for sharing your experience with your Stihls and Husky’s. I’ll keep an eye out for those issues on mine. ✌️

Kupiłem kiedyś nową Husqvarna 560XP i padł mi wał. Więc płacz nad drobnostkami to przesada! Chińczycy dopiero się uczą jakości, podobnie jak kidyś robili to Japończycy. Robią postępy i produkują coraz lepsze elementy, np. gaźniki HLHilc.
