I have one and as I have the same problems and I put the high pressure oil or on there and it took care of the problem now what will happen is that you'll end up running out of oil before you do gas so what you need to do is fill your gas tank 3/4 full then fill up your oil tank and they'll both run out the same time

Been running mine hard on chainsaw mill for a few months now and it's a beast. Only problem I've had so far is 2 coils went bad after about 1 hour of use. Finally got a good one I guess because it's lasted probably 3 hrs now. I also put an oem chain tensioner and hd2 airfilter.

They are really improving their quality. I have a ms380 knockoff and it starts and functions very well. I have had no problems with it. I am careful with the saw and pay attention to air filtration. So far so good. Their bars are ok and their chain functions similarly. I take a lot of time maintaining my saws and frankly I see no big differences between the name brand function versus the high end china saws. I have been considering getting my hands on a 200t copy and try that out.

@@jimbusmaximus4624 i think it's dyno joe mods, took a holzfforma g466 apart and ported it, the cylinder wall was quite rough but dyno'd next to an ms440 it matched up so obviously didnt really effect performance much probably due to the relatively large tolerances on 2 strokes

Ok so i have a G660 got mine from HOLZFORMA or FARMERTEC as they are known in the UK... im running a 20" bar and a full chisel chain for all my Tree work ( arborist).. Saw runs very well its a beast with the full chisel chain and for the money you cannot fault it... so far it has no problems but after hearing rumours about stilhs oil not being so great as was led to believe ive decided to mix 4 to 1 instead of the 5 to 1 ratio i was using... I hear that my american cousins run that Red armour which we dont have in the uk... you lucky bastards 🤣👍... Respect from the UK 🇬🇧

I bought a high output oiler with a 1.3 mm stroke for my G660 before I ever started it. Also an OEM Stihl recoil rotor along with the "elasto" handle grip too. The Stilh OEM decompression valve is also cheap insurance because the last thing you need is a broken recoil assembly or a broken decompression valve out in a recovery situation when you absolutely have to get a downed tree out of the road or off your barn. The reason you bought a monster is because it will take no prisoners. Make it reliable and dependable because it isn't a toy. That is a big boy saw and you never know after a bad storm if you might have to use it for first responders to get through to someone in crisis.

What’s an “aggressive break in”? After I get the saw back from port work I tune the saw to a blubbering 4 stroke but it still cleans up in the cut. Run 4-5 tanks and lean it out to where it still has a good 4 stroke 4-5 more tanks then tune to its happy place, looking for cardboard brown on plug. Make a note of rpm with tach and run as normal.

@yungsmile75462 жыл бұрын
Now, if only they would solve the chain adjuster and oil pump and worm drive issues that remain a huge pain in the arse. The oil problem on mine was twofold. When I pulled the clutch to install the HO oil pump I found that there was about a tablespoon of magnesium shards caused from the end of the worm drive spring being too long. The metal shavings were also clogging the oil pump. Cleaned up the mess, installed the HO pump and turned the output screw to maximum, which is exactly what it needed to be. There's no such thing as quality control by the assembly of them, nor customer service from Jane Xu at Farmertec; just duck and dive excuses and foot dragging. Mine was on the bench for months to get it working. Good luck with yours. Mine with Oregon 36" PowerCut weighs 27.74 lbs. Dude you need to read kg weight; not pounds. Have another cup o jo and open those peepers. 😆 I run mine with high octane straight gas at 40:1 VP full synthetic. It pulls strong with the bar buried. Tuned rich with high at 11,500 for 10 tanks. I make sure it 4 strokes when letting up in the cut of these 40"+ logs. P.S. The faux carbon fiber paint is like putting lipstick on a pig.
@spankranchgarage2 жыл бұрын
😂😂 I agree with all of this. No shavings in mine but the HO oiler was a worthy swap. Got a couple tanks through it and my biggest issue so far is that the throttle lock for cold starts doesn’t work anymore.
@machaf Жыл бұрын
I agree. These things are too much hassle to deal with. If time is money dont buy chinesism garbage. If you're bored and constantly want to tinker and replace parts then go for it. These junk saws will cost more in the long run. I've put more time into getting G888 to start then its worth. Shoulda just bought a big boy Husky and Stihl and been done with it.

Congratulations on your video. I recently bought the G660(blue). I'm running a 20" chainring and after 9 tanks the chain won't stop turning at idle. I tried to adjust it but couldn't. Could you help me? Thank you very much.
@spankranchgarage6 ай бұрын
Sure it could likely be 2 causes. First make sure the idle is low enough. If it idles too high the chain will turn. If idle is low and it still turns I would suspect a broken clutch spring, or some other clutch defect. Remove the bar and you can remove the sprocket and clutch drum to inspect.
@vaggelismeletis6 ай бұрын
Thank you very much for your advice. I have to say my mind didn't go there. With the speedometer I set it to 2500 rpm. and I didn't see a difference, I fixed the L too but still no difference. What would you recommend maximum rpm?

@@vaggelismeletis That I dont know. I would check the manual for a Stihl 066 or 660 and see where they idle at then shoot for that.
