Believe it or not, the wallpaper in that house was the epitome of class and elegance back then. Also, thieves would go for stuff like stereos and vcr's that were very expensive and could be sold or pawned for a pretty penny. Those people were loaded and that was THE house to rob. Fun fact: John Kandy recorded all his scenes and lines in the span of 24 hours with no sleep and he didn't complain once. On top of that all the lines between him and Kevin's mom ( I can't remember the actresses name, sorry) were all 100% Improved.

You did not just knock Kraft Mac. If you've ever been broke you know. The greatest crime committed in this film is that Kevin didn't even get to eat his mac n cheese. I love that John Candy and Macaulay Culkin were in this together after Uncle Buck. Even though they weren't in a scene together. The most hilarious part is that the funeral home scene with John Candy was completely improvised. This and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles began my life long for pizza and mac n cheese. 🍕🐢🐢🐢🐢

I find it rather hard for a huge family in the numbers that they are traveling with and no one even notices that Kavin is not there? Not in the van sure the one girl counted the other kid by mistake, but what about when they reached the airport or driving to the airport that's a lot of eyes seeing whole lot of nothing. Kavin is so invisible to his family he might as well run away probably take them a whole week before they notice him gone. I have no sympathy for that mom or anyone in his family. I love the whole robbers trying to break in and him defending the home that is funny stuff, But I don't excuse the family at all. Now days you do something like that your kids get taken away. Lucky Kavin didn't get taken by Child service when the mom called when she told them that she left him at home alone. An 8-year-old alone. I am surprised Kevin wasn't removed from the family. Shit in today's day that what would have happened. But I get it it's a movie.

31:10 Tipping isn't really a thing here in Australia, so when I saw this movie as a kid, I was so confused why the delivery guy called Kevin (pretending to be Johnny) a "cheapskate" when Kevin was, as far as I knew, being the opposite by letting him keep the change.
