I’m 43 and have seen this more times than I can count. That being said, if you look closely while Buzz is shoveling the food into his mouth, it looks to be the cheese from the last piece of cheese pizza. Buzz and probably the curly haired cousin with glasses who was in Buzz’s room when they were talking about old man Marley ate it.

That kinda doesn't make sense when the cam pans ro buzz he's intentionally looking at kevin in a mocking way knowing he's the main one who ears cheese pizza which is why kevin asked if they got him a plain cheese. It's kinda made obvious Buzz is that older brother constantly messing with him and getting him in trouble

So fun facts: 1. The director Chris Columbus almost didn't like doing this movie as he never understood the script. He didn't like that everyone in the family were jerks, as well as Kevin's rotten behavior. But he later stated that after having a few holidays and dealing with his own kids, he realized that this behavior is pretty realistic. 2. The constant knocking down of the porch statue by the pizza guy's car was actually improvised into a running gag. 3. There's two unnoticed forms of foreshadowing at the beginning. The first being Kevin Dad asking if they packed the Micro Machines, which Kevin uses as one of his traps. And the other being Harry's police costume which if you look carefully has a few details that show that it looks fake. 4. Notice Kevin's thoughts at 13:00 - 13:25, and rewatch the scenes where those lines were said. You'll notice how they're much more exaggerated, or not even said at all. As this is to show things from Kevin's perspective. 5. The actor playing the cop Larry improvised the donut eating, as they found it funny that some crumbs fell on the phone. So they decided to edit in the crumbs falling off. 6. The scene of Harry and Marv almost running into Kevin with their van was done in reverse out of fear that they might hit him for real. 7. John Candy (Gus) improvised all his lines in less than 24 hours. And since him and Catherine O'Hara were co-stars SCTV, it was pretty easy for him. 8. Daniel Stern had arachnophobia, but he didn't want to scare the tarantula that was on him, so he mined the scream. (Honestly, that would have been so much more funny.) Also, not a fun fact, but I almost wish Joe Pesci got an award for this movie. Sure, he got one for Goodfellas (1990), but how can you not say he's given his best acting here at 43:55 - 44:03?

NUMBAH NINE! Stern and Pesci had trouble holding back their swearing in this family movie, (Pesci was in Goodfellas. Don’t forget.) They’d hold it back well EXCEPT ONE SCENE! In the part where Marv sticks his boot through the dog door and it gets stuck you can faintly hear him goin’, “shit.”

This movie plus part two and rounded off with the 1990s Miracle on 34th street are a total mood reset. I loved this commentary, I wish more people did them instead of just blind reactions. FYI They did use stunt doubles in the first movie but Joe Pesci told People Magazine that he did many of his own stunts while filming Home Alone 2 and got burned in one scene: “I did sustain serious burns to the top of my head during the scene where Harry's hat is set on fire.”

I looked up where the Home Alone house is and the FASTEST they could get to O'hare is 24 minutes (that's zero traffic, a more realistic time would be 45-50 mins). The fact they WOKE UP when the shuttles arrived, all got ready, drove to the airport and made it through security and to their gate (international gates are at the end of O'hare's terminals) in what like an hour and half......hats off to the McCallisters.

I like that when the mom comes home you can see Kevin does not immediately go to hug her. He looks upset like " I remember what you said to me" this was, to me anyway, one of the more iconic parent admitting they were wrong moments, and credit to the mom she captures the look of heartbreak perfectly, you see in her face the sadness she felt realizing he, her youngest child, sat with the thought of not being wanted the entire time they were gone, it was like three days but you get it lol

I saw this in theaters when it came out! I was 13 and saw it with my mom and her bf. The audience was packed and everyone was laughing, cheering, and having an amazing time. Still one of my best movie theater experiences. Also, gentlemen, your son was SO adorably distracting. The purring and leaning into you was TOO MUCH!

Home Alone and its sequel are two of the best holiday movies ever made. Even the soundtrack has become a staple for the holidays. Everything after Home Alone 2 have been a bad dream. I actually want to see a legit sequel (directed by Columbus) where Kevin is a grown adult, the head of a security company as suggest in the last Home Alone disaster. He's got a family of his own. His son or daughter is kidnapped by The Wet / Sticky Bandits for money and revenge. The son or daughter has to escape with a bunch of Kevin McCallister hijinks. Then it ends where Kevin saves his kid, and punches Harry and Marv out

LOL, I'm an only child, but my mom came from a family of 10 kids. Even though I've always wished I had a sibling, I don't fault her for only having one. My mom was number 6 in the 9 girls and one boy. I know she got left at the Del Mar Fair once when she was elementary school age. When My grandparents drove all the way back to get her she was still sitting on a bench waiting for them to finish in the bathroom. The kicker is that one of my mom's sisters noticed that my mom wasn't in the car and never even said anything. I guess she was just hoping my grandparents would just leave my mom there.
