Home and Away - Opening Credits (Early 2009)

Dark, if a little miserable Opening credits inspired by the look of the 1998 intro.
Whilst working on it, I didn't realise the theme song was slowed down, but now it's ear piercingly obvious :P

One word - FANTASTIC!!! You have achieved something Home and Away producers couldn't - enjoyable opening credits. You are right the current ones are short effectsy ones with no meaning. Your opening credits show how dramatic and happy the show can be all at the same time.

The 2004 version was shocking looking back. I can see why when the show's become significantly more "dark" in the last five years, they've dumped the idea of having a smiley happy cast at the start - it's often incongorous to have it. That said, the main fail with the credits from 2000 onward was having the actors posing "to-camera" - just by having them look in a different direction it removes a lot of the Cheddar Factor away very quickly.

@soapfunclassics - I doubt it, because they would have mentioned them by now with all the 'revamp' talk they've been doing. Which means they'll either be the same as they were in 2009 or there won't be titles at all, both options being GRRRRRR.

I honestly have to say - change the mid-90s theme for an extended version of the current arrangement of the theme tune and Home & Away could have the best title sequence in its history on its hands there.

I'm not sure... whlst you couldn't use this one with the Robertsons (gahhhhh) I'd be very interested in seeing what a "back to basics" version would look like even with the 40sec version of the 2009 song, but that's purely my taste - I like the modern take with the duet back.

I must have missed the part where the title says 'Official 2009 Opening Titles', complete with a thumbnail of that awful photo-collage. Stupid reason to thumbs down. 2009 didn't even have opening credits, so it's hardly stealing the limelight/glory-hogging from any real, in-show effort. You should be grateful that this guy put in the time to a pitch longer, in-camera sequence to the network, at a time when they just weren't bothered...

I think those ones are the worst, they don't suit the show at all imo. The 2000 theme did suit at the time, but the 2004 theme? Certainly not, it was despicable and cheesy.
