OMG...WILLOW following you while you mow(and that sneaky background music) is about the cutest thing I've seen awhile. That had me cracking up! Edit: Actually I commented before I watched the entire thing: she is quite the little stinker, isn't she? I think she was the star of the show and I'm sure she'd enjoy hearing that. She's so precious.

Having a garden that you put a lot of time in and then have to move, it’s so heart breaking. Save the heart break. Enjoy what you have for now. I left a 15 year old garden that l started from nothing. The people who bought my house let the gardens go, and that really broke my heart. So save your time and energy for your next home.

Sadly, I have seen the same thing happen in my neighborhood when homes change ownership. Seems like many people are just not interested in gardening anymore. I so want roses in my yard. I had a beautiful shrub rose bush with small white roses. Had to dig it up because the japanese beetles constantly swarmed and devoured it. Despite the advertisements, I don't think there is any rose bush resistant to these predator insects! Dealing with the deer and moles is current headache in the garden! Comes with the natural wooded & stream area in the backyard--but, I have to have garden beauty in the backyard. Wish peonies blossomed all summer long! If anyone has ideas of how to push out the moles, please advise! Thanks!

I just love watching Willow. We lost our 15 year old pup a month ago today and we are heartbroken. Our girl too, loved to “chase” the water, and every Christmas we would get her new balls to play with. My pup was my shadow and she kept me going as much as I did her. It made me smile to watch Willow today. Love the walking tours. So many great ideas and so peaceful. Can’t wait for the next video.

I am same situation about fixing up more gardens while selling home soon. I decided not everyone can tolerate pollens and scents of fowers and others want little or no upkeep. So I bought a little notebook, cutting out photos of flowers and gardens I want, then I am buying seed packs and bulbs that will keep. I put my favorite plants in big pots that can be moved to my next house, but that I can also enjoy during current summer months . Best of both worlds and you are saving money for your dream home gardens!

When I wash my windows outside, I hose them off and then put Dawn directly on my sponge mop. I scrub the windows and then hose them off to rinse. They air dry without spots. Not perfect, but it does the job!😃 It beats climbing on step stools and using squeegees!😃

Linda, I just love listening to you, your voice is so calm and casual, but you are never monotone.. I would love to see some of these gardens including yours. I live in Ohio and we have so many ground moles that it's ridiculous. And every time you disturb the dirt to put down mulch or weed or plant something new they come through overnight and destroyed all. Anybody have any great ideas I think we've tried most everything. We have two acres and one acre is all plantings The gardens that you walked us through or just beautiful. And I can't remember the name of that really large leaf plant that you have in your yard, but it just cracks me up when you're standing in amongst them. That Willow is a little hoot. Jumping up in the water from the hose is too funny. I think the wallpaper is beautiful and I think you'll love it once it's up.

Yarrow-appears to be what in the South we call “Queen Anne’s Lace.” My sister uses it like one would baby’s breath-to accompany wildflower arrangements for the center of her dining room table. But it wilts easily, so if cutting, you need to bring along a vessel with some water to preserve it till you return home.

What a joy watching Willow attack the water! If you don't mind a gardening tip....I helped out in clients gardens making new beds, extending new garden beds by outlining with a shovel or edger. Lifting and turning over the turf in clumps (so, its grass on grass) then laying layers of newspaper on the clumps of dirt, amending soil and mulching. I let this "cook" (i.e., lasagna gardening) for months. I had free leaf mulch from the municipalities where I lived to help amend the soil while cooking until your'e ready to plant. Yes, it takes time. Transplant and divide your existing plants to keep the costs down. Maybe go to plant swaps or plant sales in your neighborhood. Also, the laying of newspaper controls weeds! Move the mulch over, lay newspaper, water the paper and re-mulch.

This was a lovely video to watch whilst enjoying brunch today. So, Linda, it would be most appropriate to never, ever refer to yourself as "lazy" again. Clearly you are anything but!! Now on to the question you asked regarding what to do about the gardens...you continue maintaining, caring for, loving, and appreciating the current-created gardens at your present location--and also imagining what you'll create in your next property which is so full of possibilities. Love what you have and enjoy the dream of what is to come!

Definitely not lazy! The garden tours were so beautiful. I think I would fall somewhere in the middle as far as what you should do while waiting to move. You can do so landscape decorating that would make your property more enjoyable for you for the rest of the summer, but I wouldn't put in a huge effort if you are determined to move in the near future. In any event your house is lovely even if you choose to do nothing else for the time being.

House looks so pretty with the bunting. People buy properties because they look so pretty- but once they move in they find it took someone a lot of time and energy to make it look so nice-- and they have to continue it-- so maybe keeping updating at a minimum might be good idea so all your work is not in vain--just a thought-

Bloom where you are planted. I have left many a garden during my 47 year marriage, I learned something at each. The ideal situation is to find a new house and thin the plants in the old one before you put it on the market and move them. Another alternative is to thin the perennial beds and fill flower pots and have them all over your deck. I did that early one Spring before we put a house on the market and it looked gorgeous. In July I took them all with me to their new home.

Willow cracks me up! She's hilarious. Thank you for sharing her antics. Also, thank you for the many "voice overs" in the sections where you have text too. Love your videos because we share many of the same passions of gardens, architecture, interior design, etc. As far as your garden, chose what makes you happy and what you have time and energy for. I watch a homesteader family, roots and Refuge. They knew they were moving for about the last 18 months. Jessica continued to plant perennial vegetables like asparagus and perennial flowers. Her thought was to bless the family that buys the place. So, if you decide to build what makes you happy now then you can move forward with that thought in mind. Keep the lovely videos coming! ❤

If I ever get the opportunity to really do it, I will make sure to put on my bug repellant because like you said and tis very funny 😂The ticks won't mind😆 Your Willow is so smart. I believe you might want to wait till you find your dream home. Perhaps start growing some of the plants that take a long while to grow by planting them now in containers and they will be somewhat mature by the time you move.

I agree 100% with Kathy Penner below, use more annuals and some nice big pots that you can take with you, another thing is that a garden is one of the few things that doesn't usually add value to the sale of the house. Secondly scrubbing birdbaths with undiluted vinegar keeps algae away for a long time as well as mixing some vinegar with Dawn soap to scrub anything outside also keeps mildew at bay

Live fully in the present moment. If you're inspired to add more flower beds, do it. I have left homes and gardens that I loved and busted my tail improving, but when I leave, I know that all the beauty that is around my home and garden is inside me. And I take that with me. There's no conserving or stockpiling of energy--you have whatever energy you have at that moment--go ahead and use it. Just take it one small area at a time--then when the opportunity to move arises, you won't have to quickly wrap up an entire yard re-do and you will have enjoyed the designing and seeing your visions come to life.

We will be moving at some point within the next two years and I have decided not to do any really big projects. Just small ones that would enhance the sale of our home. That's my primary focus right now. There's a lot of things I'd still like to do, but the house is just too big for us now that our children are married and have their own houses. I'm looking forward to a smaller home with smaller projects!

Isn't summer amazing? We are having glorious weather in the south so I've spent a lot of time outdoors. Heading to the Blue Ridge Parkway to picnic tomorrow. Love your outdoor walks. I wish summer lasted 12 months!

Johnson & Johnson baby lotion in the green tube is a bug repellent…they hate it! (Actually, I think it’s called baby oil lotion or something). I can’t imagine why there isn’t a deck over the roof of the building out back…lol So funny, I live less than an hour from Monson Village, we drive up to Keene for great restaurants and shopping. Naughty Willow 🤣

Linda I enjoy your adventures and garden so much! Makes my day and I understand “Willow Ways” because I have a doodle too. If I would turn around too fast he would knock me down (57 pounds)!

To respond to your question, Linda, about creating a garden now vs waiting, my advice is to live in the moment. It's hard to predict when you will find your unicorn home, so why not enjoy what you can today? Also, the stepping stones that you saw on your visit to the garden in New Hampshire......you need those on "Willow's Trail" that she made to the bird bath! A perfect spot to create a mini-version of your own garden sanctuary. PS--Did you notice your wallpaper is close to the same color as the paint on your home....hmmm!!!

Ben bought the mower for me the first year we bought it after I mentioned I used to push one as a child and thought it would be fun for out house. Next thing I new it was delivered to our door! LOL. I do have a link below if you don't find one you like. Mine is from Scotts. Have fun!

I love a push mower. Excercise. Gas free. AND being a rotary mower, they do the best job.
