There are many situations in home automation where some sort of remote control, like a push button, would be practical. For instance to switch a lamp back on after it was switched off by the HA controller.
Ikea has a few nice remote switches in its Trådfri collection that would be great for this kind of applications, but out-of-the-box they don't work with Home Assistant or other open-source home automation systems.
Zigbee2MQTT offers a solution. By adding a Zigbee adapter (re)programmed with Zigbee2MQTT's Z-Stack, integrating Ikea Trådfri devices suddenly becomes possible.
This video presents an almost plug-n-play way to add an Ikea Trådfri remote to Home Assistant by using an iTead Sonoff Zigbee adapter. No programming required!
