Awesome. I'm delighted. This is the main point I make these videos. To help others decide which ones to buy. Thanks, that makes my day!

My copy just arrived this afternoon. Have a feeling it might go into the meh pile along with Interplay and Intellivision but I’ll give it a chance. Reading instructions is never a good thing though….😂

Hi! How do we get access to hidden games? People talks about them like it was always there, but don't say how. I'm new to Evercade.
@CrazyBurger10 ай бұрын
There's a mix of cart combos on the VS, button presses on the cart menu, secret codes input to the secret code section.. there's a list at Evercade.info if you get stuck. I've done vids on all of them. Search on KZbin Evercade secrets.

Great review and some really helpful tips. I agree about the scrolling on the 8bit Guy's games, Dave Murray maybe needs to get some pointers from the likes of Jeff Minter and Tony Crowther because if there's one thing the C64 and Amiga can do well, it's smooth scrolling :-) Thanks and keep up the awesome work!

In only 3 days of playing this collection. I can already say without a doubt this is my favourite cartridge of the Home computer lineup. The standout games without a doubt are citadel remonstered. Sword of ianna and Bridge strike. Sword of ianna reminds me of a combination of Rastan and Prince of Persia. I'm already halfway through citadel. The other games are pretty good as well but the above mentioned three are easily my favourites on this cartridge.
@CrazyBurger10 ай бұрын
Interesting comparison. I'll agree with you, very similarish..

Bought a Super Pocket recently but i do think The Evercade carts r a rip off. You’ll get one or two on each cart that is actually unplayable. Should be priced accordingly
@Jbrodack9 ай бұрын
Thanks for the explanations of the games. It's an odd collection but after seeing what you get I realized it's a good value overall. You get some some real in depth games mixed with some lighter content plus a bonus comic and free steam key.

Sword of Ianna looks _beautiful._ I had to order the cart immediately.
@CrazyBurger9 ай бұрын
It is. That music on level one is just brilliant. This is a fantastic game. I'm still playing it!
@genejoke853810 ай бұрын
Sword of Ianna alone makes the cart worth a purchase. Absolutely loving that. Citadel seems great too for that matter. Haven't sunk my teeth into Petscii and planet X yet though. Definitely a better cart than I expected but a few more games wouldn't have hurt, especially if they were more action based to balance out the more complex games.
@CrazyBurger10 ай бұрын
Yep I agree with a of that.. definitely 2 or 3 games short. Couldve easily added a couple C64 homebrews on there. Loving Sword of Ianna. Making steady progress. Occasionally get lost and stuck..

Well I was on the fence with this one Crazy Burger!… and I’m STILL on the fence! Lol 🤣. I’m wondering what 7 games you would of chosen for a collection such as this? 🤔. I think it is hard whatever you choice though, because these where games that were created for a computer! So I guess you have to have a different mindset to want to play them?! 🤔. Even though I’m tempted to buy it. I think FULL VOID is the better one I may go with. Purely because I believe it is easier to get into, and have MORE fun with?! 🤔
@CrazyBurger10 ай бұрын
Ah now if it was down to me I'd have Citadel sure, Sword of Ianna, let's have Petscii, Bridge Strike, Tank Furry. Ditch the rest..include Rogue 64 and add Millie and Molly, Grid Pix, Runn and Gunn, Lester, Tenenbra, Doc Cosmos, Sam's Journey, Knights n slimes, Soulless, Barnsley Badger, Pig Quest, PowerGlove Reloaded, Turbo Tomato, etc
@6thdr10 ай бұрын
I love this cart its truly brilliant. Loved Sword of Ianna, Bridge Strike is cool. Tanks is fun, prob more so multi player. Farming I'm just getting into, but once you're into it, it's hard to put down. Planet X2 again put the effort in and it opens up to Rebel Star type fun. For me it hits all the right spots.
@CrazyBurger10 ай бұрын
Nice one, definitely better the more effort you put into understanding the games.
@JetteroHeller8310 ай бұрын
Bridge Strike is amazing on the Nintendo Switch. Cheap too. $2.60 CAD is what I paid on the eshop. I don't have this collision issues. There's a joystick on the bottom of the screen that really adds that flying feel to it. Bridge Strike pays homage to River Raid and then some. I will be playing this a lot.
@Jbrodack9 ай бұрын
I think that's a very different version
@bjornh152710 ай бұрын
Makes sense to make this a gameplay introduction for some of the games. They seem a bit tricky to play with lots of functions mapped to buttons too...
@CrazyBurger10 ай бұрын
Yeah it seemed like the most logical thing to do to help folks get started. Seems like a Planet X2 probably had the most work.. a full remap of the controls needed. A very complex game.

On Switch, I think Bridge Strike doesn't have random-generated levels. I don't know if that's the case here as well, but that's a bummer in my eyes.

Switch version looks a lot more advanced by the looks of it
@roskapostikohde459410 ай бұрын
@@CrazyBurger It has zoom in and out at least. But that probably being a more polished version doesn't bode well for the Amiga version w.r.t. the level generation/non-generation. Not really looking forward to this game when I get this collection.

Another knockout video Burger! I really like this cart. Sword of Ianna is great and the comic book was a nice surprise. Hopefully we see more MSX games. Fingers crossed for a Spectrum and BBC micro cart.

The comic book reminds me of Rick Dangerous 1&2 lol... Blaze must of thought this one would not shift in large numbers as it's been sold out for over 2 days now on Funstock as if not enough were made. Agree 1 or 2 of those secret games would of been more suited to this cart to add a bit more variety for non-home computer users during the 80's & 90's.
@CrazyBurger10 ай бұрын
Lol so funny you mentioning Rick Dangerous. I played that a couple of nights ago.. using save states I even finished the 1st stage. Totally impossible without save states. I barely made progress on my c64.
@MIKandJEAN10 ай бұрын
@@CrazyBurger lol, the Amiga & ST versions are twice the size for each level for Rick1, the end of level 1 on C64 is only half way for level 1 on Amiga! 😁 No.2 is easier to get into as the first 4 levels are open straight off and they are a lot more fair to play. The last level that's locked is more like Rick1, try and you will die lol. Wish the Amiga versions were on Evercade tho! BTW the ST versions were ported to Megadrive a while back, best played on C64 or Amiga imo.
@CrazyBurger10 ай бұрын
@@MIKandJEAN Yeah definitely best on the Commodores. Maybe they'll be on a cart one day. So many titles like that I'd love to see. Save states make things so much more enjoyable. Like Flashback.

Indie Heroes has become the recognised evercade collection of indie games. Why start segregating the titles up into console and or home computer titles? A good indie game is good regardless of the intended retro hardware. If you establish a brand you dont then start watering it down or create your own titles to compete against it. In my humble opinion, these should have been included in future IH collections.
