Tears rolled down my eyes as I remembered my mother. I grew up eating this food. It’s been three decades since I tasted this food as I moved to USA in early 80s. Kudos for the video

If you think about it, I think Mangalorean cuisine has got everything for everyone. From vegan/ vegetarian dishes for the uber vegan/ vegetarian to Beef/ Chicken/ Fish for the uber non vegetarian. Mangalore has beaches, great pubs, ice cream parlours etc and very importantly talented man power. Engineers, Doctors, Accountants etc. Really underrated city and I feel an American or European company would feel right at home here rather than Bangalore.

Truly Mangalore is an underrated city. It has everything from Beaches and Backwaters, beautiful temples and Churches. Hotels like Maharaja, Kudla, Giri Manjas, Narayana etc the list is endless.. And not yo forget the rich Diversity too.. Food is very underrated too as compared to the overrated Goa

@@Vin_1985 also an observation. During my stay, I absolutely loved the temple in Kateel. But the family who showed me the temple in Kateel were a Catholic family from Kinnigoli as I attended a wedding there. They also showed me the statue in Karkala, cockerel fights, yakshagana play and churches around Mangalore. Diverse indeed. In the end I was exhausted but pleasantly so. And the food was brilliant. The Hindus have their food. The Catholics have their food. Both, absolutely 100% delish. Fantastic and underrated place.

@@-Guru u can come by bus. U have to catch 15 number and get down at fathima retreat center bus stop. The lane opposite to this leads to the hotel. Very easy to spot as it's on the roadside

Sir very good presentation... Really liked your videos.. I request you to come to Janatha hotel which is located in Gurupura Mangalore.. It's really famous vegetarian hotel which is very famous for Dosa and also other food items which is cooked only thru timber wood not on stove or gas... This hotel is visited by many great people including Late Atal Bihari vajapai...

20 years back, My family used to go to Pereira's hotel in Hampankatta when I was a kid. We had Chilli Pork and Sanna and the taste is still in my mind. Later we would go to nearby Ideals Ice Cream Parlor for Parfait. So want to visit again. Great memories of Mangalore.

I used to live in Valencia during my med school days at Mullers right opposite the Mary bai’s mess at Bluebird apartments till the end of 2008! Mangala bar and restaurant, Mary bai’s mess and the icecream parlour opposite Fatima Retreat Centre (I think it was called Grace) were my regular nearby haunts for food! Thanks Kripal sir for making me go on a nostalgia trip and bringing back some wonderful memories of that lovely food! Would love to go back there someday and feast on that lovely fish curry rice meal wit some bafat and bangude fry! 😋
