Abounding in eateries that dish out delicious vegetarian fare, freshest of seafood, traditional meaty preparations and more, Mangalore leaves one spoilt for choice! We round up top restaurants and spots to dine at when in this port city.
The second and final part to this food trail starts off in the wee hours of the morning as Food Lovers’ Editor, Kripal Amanna explores Bunder, the largest seafood market in the city. He then samples some delicious fish fries at Giri Manja’s and Narayana’s. Following this, he visits the home of a couple that runs Rooster’s. A small scale business selling homemade ground masalas. The evening ends at Halli Mane Rotties and concludes with an exciting street food trail across the city.

Kripal, Ramnad round chillies are hotest among three varieties of red chillies you showed. Bydgi is very flavourful one with bright orangish red colour. Kashmiri is redest coloured chilli with very minimal capsaicin heat.

Krupal, It's only for you the Banana leaf and Royal service. I visited the place...for us...forget someone was attending the table, waiters were not even ready to look at the table...I spotted two young ladies moving around (maybe a supervisor) I tried to grab their attention and the cold response even after they saw me waving hand and saying 'Hello'... By the time it was around 15 minutes passed..then I also noticed another guest complaining about something...but, there they all had enough and more time to argue with guests...finally I walked off after a good 15 minutes without even having a glass of water...(anyway not served). Maybe my bad day or service standard itself is the way it is...

The sea port steals the show..kripal sir, do people consume octopus. Strange! But what I really like about is, that you get into the hardships of the people, who indulge in the relative activities. On the other day, I watched your gourmet biker episode on kovalam, where you went along with the fisherman selvam to the sea, which most of the people won't do, which is highly appreciable. Hey maan you should surely once come to Mysore City... My city too has a lot to offer... Tasty lip smacking dishes.... There is Big Chicken in banni mantap there you get awesome lovely malabar chicken biriyani... There's Casino Park restaurant where the again the chicken biriyani is awesome, there's Hanumantu's which is famous for its Mutton Palav, there's a place where they sell Jamoon and Rasagulla for 5rs each but they're sooo sooo tasty you would have even 10 of them... So yummy, there are two cafés which offer best in class cold coffee (hard rock café and coffee on the rocks) ohh the best, And road side foods also rock... You could film your vedios here for 2 days trying all of these... Its worth to taste all of these for a food lover like you.

When I saw a youtube video I was so exited and wanted to visit once. I managed to visit once with one of my friend convincing him that it is a very famous restaurant for fish lovers. Unfortunately I was disappointed with the cold food and with lot of masala. I didn't like at all. I told my friend that it looks very nice only in KZbin video and my wife cooks better than this. I just came here to try the food and I was looking for a partner to visit the restaurant. We had ordered muri meen and prawns tawa fry. It was almost a chilly gravy. My 1st and last time there.

Cooking is all about a perfect balanced chemical reaction. There is a lot of chemistry involved. Having said that I believe you should have fried the fish before putting it into the sauce. Ever heard maillard reaction if not then it's a homework for you.
