I wanted an accent wall in my new craft room with personality and texture.
I use a satin base coat and glitter paint to achieve the look. I also share with you my thoughts on the whole process.

I would suggest adding extra fine glitter to semi gloss paint(hobby lobby) 1 2 oz container per gallon. You'll get a glimmer look without looking tacky.

Yes, from what I can tell the iridescent paint helps to accentuate whatever is beneath it

TY! You can certainly feel texture, but it's a smooth rough, not dangerous like it'll scratch your skin... if the makes sense, LOL

Thanks! Yes, paint your base color and then do a coat with the glitter paint. The glitter paint enhances whatever is beneath.

Thank you for your very useful tips. I also have a pink wall which I want to paint iridescent. The problem is ever paint I see seems to have glitter. Since I can't find a clear glaze without glitter, how obvious is the glitter? Your after photos were very closeup. I would have loved to see the completed room. What does it look like as a whole? In other words, you walk into the room. Do you first see glitter? Iridescent? Pink? Is it suttle or blinding? Thank you.

No I don't think so it becomes cemented in the paint. You should go for it 🙂

Did it turn yellow after a couple of months having it on? I'm just asking because I checked online reviews of this paint, and a couple people said it changed different colors after it dried. One said in a couple of months it turned yellow. But maybe it depends on the base they had.

Was there a problem with having the glitter going on even or was there streaks and places with heavy glitter and other light glitter?

Not with this brand, it's more liquidity, so if you take your time and put on thin coats you can for the most part avoid streaks and uneven spots. I used the Krylon brand a while back and it's like a paste almost and it did exactly what you are describing. Complete disaster 🤦🏽‍♀️

Thanks! If I remember right it was about 24 hours. I let each coat dry before I added the next, so it probably didn't even take that long.

Not sure. My finished wall is smooth rough, not gritty rough, if that makes sense? My suggestion would be to do a test on something like cardboard. That should to give you an idea of what to expect before you fully commit.

Hi Ashley! It all depends on how blingy you wanna get, so here's my meter: 1 coat= a hint of bling 2 coats= decent bling 3 coats= the bling really comes through I love the bling so 3 was perfect for me, without going all Vegas, LOL! There's definitely a texture a smooth grit if that makes sense.

It helps with the consistency of the paint. If it's cold the paint may thicken up, if it's warm it will go on smoother.

Don't really know... did you try another coat with perhaps a roller... rolling the paint on in a "W" fashion seemed to work for me.
