Hi Garden friends! My Home Depot Garden Center is doing a fantastic job bringing in new seasonally appropriate perennials. This is the perfect way to fill gaps in your garden for a long season of continual blooms. They have a new selection of evergreens, shrubs, and perennials. Keep in mind that sales and inventory vary greatly by location. Thanks for watching - Steph (Gardening in Massachusetts zone 6b) #homedepot #gardeningtips #gardening #homedepotgardencenter #plants #shopping Here is the video I referenced about the comparison on the Green Giant Arborvitae vs. the Emerald Green Arborvitae. I get so excited and giddy when you find all these great plants during your visits to Home Depot and Lowes, only to then get so depressed when I drive to mine and find that the have absolutely none of them and nothing new at all, lol. :-(

When I go to my Home Depot - there is never anyone beside me talking up all the plants with all the details ~ that's why I love shopping with Steph and I don't even have to leave my chair!

Even though my Home Depot here on the Cape is much smaller than yours, I was so happy to find a Sky Pencil Japanese Holly yesterday! My husband and I are going to be moving a red Japanese maple to another area and needed something to replace it. So excited to have found one and see it grow!

I really enjoy these videos. I’m new to gardening and find them very informative and entertaining. Even though we are in different states, my local store usually has the same products and pricing. Thank you for continuing to do these type of videos throughout the seasons.

I agree about marigolds! Love them and always start some more mid summer to refresh my fall window boxes. I also grow sage which looks great with them. Matrona is my favorite sedum steph. Another great video. Thank you and have a great weekend! I'll be planting 😊

Hi Kim! I've done 1 Fall Planter, and like you trying to keep the rest going as long as possible 🌱 but I've still picked up a few fun perennials for fall planting, which is my favorite time to plant.

Looking forward to getting your opinion on the performance of the calamintha. I was introduced to that plant a year or two ago on another channel. It looks beautiful, but I’ve never seen in for sale in my area. Thanks for the tour!

I see from the comments that I am not the only one whose big box stores have sad selection of plants. The stores in Steph’s area have good buyers who bring in healthy plants. Quite honestly, my Lowe’s and Home Depot are very hit or miss. It’s very frustrating. I live on the southeastern NC coast; I guess our market is too small for good plant selection.

I went to both HD and Lowes today. I’m in Texas Gulf Coast and it’s a sad sight. They are in the struggle bus. Selections have been bad since 2020.

Deer love coneflowers
@HookedandRooted2 ай бұрын
Hi there, I think it depends on the deer in your area. I deal with lots of deer pressure in my garden. They reach right over the coneflowers and eat my roses but leave the coneflower alone. They will try anything if hungry enough though.
@John_NY105662 ай бұрын
@@HookedandRooted True, I garden in the hudson valley area of NY, high deer pressure here as well as I border 500 acres of forest.. My coneflower would be non existent if I didn't constantly spray, they will also eat the flower buds of the daisies but seem to leave the black eye susans alone, go figure
