Steve Hartman is the modern day Charles Kuralt. When CBS let Kuralt do On The Road, it was only supposed to run for six weeks, but the stories were very popular with the viewers that CBS News got a great deal of mail. The series ran until 1980, when Kuralt started hosting Sunday Morning. Then Steve Hartman restarted the series.

In 1939 I was 4, at Christmas I sang ‘I’m sending a letter to Santa Claus, a letter I hope he’ll receive, And I wonder if he will please remember me, when he calls on Christmas Eve, There will be plenty of other letters, from other girls & boys, but I want my soldier daddy he’s better than all those toys, and so I’m sending a letter to Santa Claus to bring my daddy safely home to me.”

Merry Christmas Steve! I cried tears of joy on the last segment! And i also cried about the secret Santa, it reminded me when i was visiting my handicapped step daughter and being a single parent again, I took her out for Breakfast one day and my debit card was declined, so i told the waitress to just nring my step daughters breakfast because i didn't have enough for my toast and coffee, little did I know, a couple in the booth next to ours told the waitress to bring me my toast and coffee. They left before our order arrived and i never got to thank them, I cried and the waitress also said not to worry about a tip because they covered our tip as well! I cried even harder. Trars of thankfulness and tears of joy. I try to do the same at least once a year to this day, 15 yrs later.

We have someone who gives out Hundred dollar bills In our town. He's extremely stealthy People usually don't realize until they get home And find envelopes slipped into a stroller or pocket How he accomplishes this with nobody noticing has been the on going speculation of who they are The most popular is he's a retired magician . It's not out of the ordinary to find your lunch paid for when you go to pay your bill Or your groceries paid for when you check out in my town so there are. More than one of Him or Her out there paying it forward . Blessed to have stumbled on this place and I will never move. Especially how crazy the world has gotten these past few years .
