It's actually a technique we bass singers use to hold a specific ending of a word without losing the note during the vocal fry. It's nice to do because then you don't have to drop to a subharmonic or a growl and have as much air as possible

Everyone went for the criminal look except for Rob. He looks more like a cuddly custodian in the jumpsuit. Adam takes the win for the most criminal look, with Tim a close second. Chase rocks the lead and is AMAZING! And Tim gets a spotlight moment with a basement bass note that will curl your toes! Then he gives that look that says, "Yeah, I just did that."

What's the difference between subharmonics and fry? I understand fry when the gilly girls use it, but this is new (bass range).
@danturner93914 жыл бұрын
Lynn Prince someone correct me if I’m wrong but vocal fry is when you pop your vocal folds together and subharmonic singing is when you vibrate your vocal fold along with your false folds. Basically you are vibrating your normal vocal chords and frying at the same time, which creates a fundamental frequency lower than the pitch you are singing. It is an extremely hard technique and often sounds very similar to vocal fry, but it sounds more open and full

Great job guys! Just a note of appreciation for all of you that many of the reaction video people are missing in their comments. I live right beside a train tressal and EVERYONE is missing the train details in this cover. The horn blowing, the rhythmic bop-bops of the train on the track, etc. Best part is Adam’s subtle chugging during Tim’s last solo line….SPOT ON! Nobody has commented on that! Another thing everyone is missing is the sound of Adam cocking the gun in the “don’t ever play with guns” line. That line was brilliant the way you all did it! Just bought our Q&A tickets for the Shipshewana show. We’ll be coming in from south-central Ohio. Can’t wait for July 1st! My husband finally gave in and said he would come with me this time (he doesn’t like crowds), but asked me to pass on a message: “They need to give me some Gene Autry or Roy Rogers! Lol. So, FPB is a wonderful combination of the train song and the prison song with a complete disregard for continuity. What I really appreciate about Home Free's cover is something I haven't heard anyone else mention. What a great job you guys did on creating the sound of a mournful train to enhance that portion of the song. From Rupp's chuffing and clicks of a steam engine and mournful wail of the harp (even chugging across the screen), to Brown's toots and wail of the whistle, I felt that train rolling down the tracks. I thought you should know that someone noticed. Well done, gentlemen.

They never disappoint, love all their songs... Their cover of Ring of Fire was awesome so I'm sure they will do the same with another song by the Man in Black🙂

I get chills throughout my whole body every time you hit those lowest of low notes.

That beatbox is incredible. In each one of their songs.

Please for the love of God let Rob do a rap song...he is so talented, I love the little bits we hear. I would really like to be able to see him have a whole rap song....long live Home Free.

Not necessarily rap but a whole song doing lead…Believe it or not his voice is the one that stands to me the most.

I love it! Well, to be fair, I haven't seen it yet...but I know I will love it! You can't go wrong with Home Free covering Johnny Cash. Thanks in advance, Home Free!

I was waiting for a Johnny Cash song from Tim and Chance! You boys NAILED it! I have to admit my eyes went to Adam in this whole video!!! I think he looks natural in prison garb for some reason!!
@vickyschieman26944 жыл бұрын
Hee! There's something about Adam's eyes that can make him look a little intense sometimes (I love it--no complaints). Add to that intense look some wild hair and a prison jumpsuit and he definitely looks intimidating to me.

The little bass riff at 3:05 is fire, works perfectly with Adam's drum roll.
