I think it’s cool that when the song was first written, the lyric was, “will you remember my name”, and Austin decided to change it to “. . . you will remember my name.” It makes the song.

What is never mentioned in reactions to this song is how nearly every line in the first two verses had direct references to songs by Luke and Garth in the lyrics, and then there was the final tribute to Willie - and I'm not talking about Austin's Willie braids. And the years weren't just plucked out of thin air. 2009, Luke Bryant was still a small name, Dec 1989 was Garth's first big hit, and Willie's theme album "Red Headed Stranger" album was released in 1975. His album "Always on My Mind" was released in 1982.

Definitely an Adam Rupp showcase, plus lots of harmony.
@lrfcowper5 ай бұрын
Adam Rupp pretty much arranges the drums on his own, records them at home, and processes them, then sends them to Darren. He and Darren might talk and Darren say, "I think we need a little something here," or "I think X would be great here," but it's 95+% Adam doing the drum arrangements.

The release of this song and video just happened to coincide with the Little League World Series Championship. The small LA community of El Segundo (perhaps you're familiar with it) won! And as a result, made a name for themselves! Almost to a person, reactors mention Adam's performance in this. He definitely gave it his all...and then some. 😊

Yeeeeeeeeeees, great song, I love the way they merged the story of the baseball players with some music icons in the country music world, named several in the song including Willie there at the end! Great job writing as well! And I agree, Adam Rupp just went off on this one. Again, low bass Kenneth saying great job!

Yes, I love the references to the oldies songs and performers.. 🎉 I'm so excited to say I just received the backstage vip tickets for my birthday to their concert in September. I just hope I don't fan girl out so much that I might not be able to talk or they might have to call out security . 😅 😅 either way, we'll see how it goes. (Long message. Sorry.) Two things that i love about you two: I love your addictive personalities. You are joyful but also talk like real people rather than a poorly-acted TV role And I really like is how engaging you are with your audience. You reply to KZbin comments, not just Patreon posts, for instance. I made a comment about Boing a month ago and Jillian shared an experience rather than a short "Yea, it sucks." like many other reactors would do. Those same reactors will ask viewers to answer questions (e.g. "What are their names?") then never knowledge that they even read the comments. Thank you for all of the great Home Free reactions!

Thanks for your reaction. What another great original song! Love the nostalgic feel of this song & the video. They mention a few of the country greats in this song. Also think it is a nod to the great baseball legend Babe Ruth. Austin sings about Willie (Nelson) at one point. Think his braids are an homage to Willie. Love Tim's lower tone in the verse he sings. And Adam is awesome as usual. These guys are so talented & in a league by themselves.

I’m not a country music fan by any stretch, but it’s super cool how Austin managed to get so many country songs and artists worked into the lyrics. It’s rare for Austin to not be peppy! The behind the scenes videos show more of the guys’ personalities. You need to watch those even if it’s just for your own fun!

"I know *who* it was, I don't know *what* it was!" I believe they actually have a word for it on Adam's home planet. It's hard for humans to vocalize, though, like much of what comes out of his mouth.

Actually Adam does most of the production on his percussion at home himself. Of course Darren does too, but probably not as much as you think. Adam separates each sound and refines it and I'm sure other stuff. There's a part in a HF video that shows him explaining what he does. It's been a few years since I've watched it, so I don't remember the details. But I'm pretty sure Chris got a degree in music production, or whatever they call it, and I'm sure Adam probably learned from watching him produce Home Free's songs for so many years, before Darren came along. I imagine that's actually how he started. So Chris didn't have to do it. Because Chris did everything from procuction, managing, marketing etc. Before they could afford to hire people. Thanks for the video! Can't wait to see the vlog.

Austin is such a good lyricist & of course, the harmonies & beatboxing are terrific.! I love the references in this to so many legends, including Babe Ruth (the boys playing baseball) & Austin's braids are a nod to Willie Nelson . If you haven't seen his originals "If I Met You Now", "Real Talk" & "Off the Grid" among them (on his channel), they're sooo good.
@nanadeborah87175 ай бұрын
The video was a little Babe Ruth,pointing out where his homerun would be. Thanks Jillian and Jeremy. Tim is always more reserved in person than his stage persona. Adam is an introvert also,but can really get talking when he is discussing his craft. Adam and Rob and me live by Darren. Actually,at one time, I lived for 9 years probably less than a mile away from Rob. It was before I knew about Home Free. I would listen to concerts from the Zoo,not knowing who was playing. Probably why Rob looked familiar to me. I'm sure I saw him around. Let me know when you come to Minnesota! We can get together!!
