Tim says he did that wah-wah sound in the studio & they were all, "We're using that!" Then he realized he'd have to reproduce that sound every time they sing it live. That was Austin all the way through Ed Sheerin 😀! All the Basses are talented, but Tim Foust is the most talented! He taught Avi & Geoff how to do what they are doing now, and I’m sure that the others looked to him for inspiration as well.

@@nikelodeon6852 Just because Tim doesn’t use those techniques, doesn’t mean he doesn’t know how to use them. It’s well known that when Tim and Geoff met on the “Sing-Off”, Geoff was unable to go as low as Tim. They became friends and Geoff asked Tim to help him expand his vocal range. Tim did the same thing for Avi prior to him joining PTX. I’m not saying that Tim taught either of them everything, he just helped with the raw talent that was there. Tim has been in the a cappella world for a long time and is older than the other guys. It makes sense that they would look to him as a mentor of sorts, just as he would have looked to someone else. I say Tim is the most talented for a variety of reasons…his 6 octave range, the quality of his voice, his song writing, his arranging, his teaching, and he’s just a darn good guy!
@melodieclay1739

@@nikelodeon6852 if you had taken the time to actually read my post thoroughly and not jump on anyone whose opinion differs with yours, you would know that my message was not combative in any way and actually agreed with you on certain points. Tim Foust is the one who says he has a 6 octave range, and I would think that the artist himself would know better than anyone else what his capabilities are. So, if you want to call me a liar, you are calling Tim a liar! I didn’t say that Tim taught Geoff how to do subharmonics. What I said is that just because Tim doesn’t use the technique, doesn’t mean he doesn’t know how to use it. What I said was that Tim helped Geoff extend his vocal range. I think it’s great that you are invested in Geoff and he is a great talent, but please don’t go around calling people liars and being combative when their opinion differs from yours. I’ve been a Home Fry for many years and I know that’s not what those guys stand for, and I know that they are good friends with Voice Play, so I’m hoping they have the same ethics. Please do not reply again. I have no wish to continue this discussion with you, I just wanted to make sure you are aware that even though it’s not face to face, it isn’t polite to call someone a liar. Thank you.

He can twang it with the best of them! He had to actually work hard with training to not use that twang when he sings so many songs that he doesn't need or want it in. Tim pretty much sings with his twang or somewhat most of the time. Have you listened to Austin do Les Miserables with Home Free, a live show. You will get to find out his classical training. Avi also is a smooth bass. Geoff is a baritone who has learned techniques to get low. Love Adam's vocal percussion as always. He is so good at it that you forget there are no instruments. Another new favourite. Face it, Just about every new song you hear from Home Free is your new favourite. but that's fine.By the way, Austin can sing pretty deep when he wants to. That was Austin all the way through the Ed Sheeran song. Thanks for another enjoyable HF reaction. Cheers!

that was Austin the whole time on Thinking Out Loud. Austin's a Georgia boy, so he can get "real country".

You are right in a way on how they decide who will take lead. They will all make a demo of themselves in lead and then as a group and with Daren Rust they make the decision. I know Tim said on the album Dive Bar Saints Rob made it into the studio first to record and they were all blown away the album came out Rob heavy. Which I don't mind. Rob never gets enough credit.

The part you're questioning if it's Tim...it is actually Austin. Austin in from south Georgia so he has a southern accent. He's from Tifton, Ga...just 20 miles from me.

Thank you! Tim has a 5 + octave vocal range. Wait till you hear his original songs Land of the Free and Snow Globe! 🤯. Chris and Adam Rupp are responsible for the Butts Remix that us Home Fries love. Chris is my favorite tenor and is hilarious! 😂

Thank you for diving headfirst down this rabbit hole. I have been waiting for you to do these songs... It truly shows off Tim's amazing range and Austin's "Jesus" voice. It is soul satisfying. I appreciate your candor and true appreciation of their pure talent.... and drive. Lets face it.. This kind of music comes with a lot of hard work and talent. They have done their work and need to be recognized for the talent and effort they put in each of these songs. So Great!!!!. Keep on Keeping on down the Rabbit hole.... There is more ahead. Can't wait to see your reaction to what is in store for you!!! We will be watching and supporting. Thank You again. Peace Brother!!!

The beauty of music is it crosses boundaries and brings many different people together who otherwise paths may never have crossed. It makes no difference one’s political views. Be you my friend! Your personality is golden!

Does anyone else realize that this was a one take video? This is the second one they have done like this. Many listen and react for the singing but don't forget about the videography.
