(LOL) I'm not gonna give you options 'cuz if you don't like it, it really wouldn't matter who was singing it. You're absolutely entitled to dislike a particular song! (I've always hated "Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer" and it wouldn't matter who-the-hell sings it, I'll hate it.)

I have always liked this song...but until Home Free put this one out, I didn't really understand the song. They took it back to its original meaning...it was a song from a prison movie about a convict's thoughts about whether to break out and gain freedom and remain on the run or stay in prison to the end of his sentence so he could go home to his loved ones.

The gents are paying homage to the 1955 movie "UNCHAINED " so on that note check out the origin and history of this classic song to hear some of the 1,500 version of this classic song. Now I know its to his own, you don't like it you don't like it. But might give you a better understanding of the song.

At first I didn’t like how loud the harmonies were compared to the soloists. But after I listened a few times I like it better, especially the doo wop elements. But I do like the song, so there is that.

You are one of the few persons that doesn't like this song. But you are entitled to your opinion. The Righteous Brothers had a big hit with "Unchained Melody" in 1965. Home Free did such a beautiful rendition of this classic song. They gave it an old doo-wop feel. The video in prison is very fitting as this song was originally written for the 1955 prison film "Unchained". The film centered on a man who contemplates either escaping from prison to live life on the run or finishing his sentence and returning to his wife & family.

It’s ok to not like a song. There are songs I don’t like either. This was written for the movie Unchained in 1955 about prison. Home Free went back to the roots of the song so I loved the video. Loved the black and white film and the typewriter. Loved Tim and Austin’s solos. I think if you were in prison and thinking about your girlfriend or wife you would wonder if they’d wait for you to get out?! But I get it, it’s not for you. That’s ok, there are songs out there that I don’t care for either. You might like their newest one Save the World. It’s a good one!

If you don't like this song, there's nothing wrong with it. Everyone has their own taste and opinion. And I really appreciate you being honest. I like it, especially how Home Free brings it. I also like the version by the Righteous Brothers. But rather listen to this one,wonderfully sung and performed cover of Home Free. With their own twist to it, but still keeping the respect for the original. The leads, the harmonies, the Doo-wop, the bass, everything just so good. Also wonderful how they bring back the real story. Beautifully portrayed in black and white and the shadow on the wall of the inhuman Adam

the song was popular when it was first released. then decades later was featured in the hit move "Ghost." which cased it to be over played on radio stations, just like Free Bird.

It’s ok if you don’t like the song. HF does several songs I do not like but they always deliver! Check out Rob and Austin singing opera! I don’t like opera at all but I could easily listen to them singing opera.

Honey, after the first 20 times you said that you don't like it, we figured it out.........then you said it 100 times more......WOW !!!....LOL.....it's not my favorite either, but since i'm a Home Free lover, i like it when they do it cuz they do it so well !!!......i don't care for opera, either, but i sure respected Austin and Rob when they sang Nessun Dorma !!!.....they did a wonderful job. No reason to be sorry. Tim has a video from his doo-wop album on a song I've never really liked. The video is okay -- it's Tim, after all -- but I just can't get into it like I can the other videos because of the song. This video I especially like because it goes back to the visual theme of the origin of the song; not the 1965 Righteous Brothers version that made it a hit, but its rendition in the 1955 prison movie Unchained. BTW, Austin Brown did a "solo" video, with Steven Martinez on guitar, exactly 13 months before this one. He sounds wonderful, whether you like the song or not. So please, don't apologize.

I don't dislike this song but I feel the exact same way about "When a Man Loves a Woman." Only difference is that I know exactly why I don't like that one: It's a song where the singer is basically stating they are mentally deranged. Nope, no thank you. I'll take James Taylor's "Something in the Way She Moves" any day.

Respect that you're being honest. Certainly prefer that to someone feigning love of something they clearly dislike. We're aware that you're a fan of Home Free but we all have a range of reactions to their work... be it original or cover. Sometimes our tastes for a particular piece might evolve over time. Don't feel obligated to react to something you know, going in, will prove to be a waste of your time and attention.

No worries bro. There are a few songs that Home Free has covered that I have not liked, not because of their performances and arrangements but the songs themselves, so I really do not go back and listen to those videos again. A few personal examples are Between a Rock and a Heartbreak, Flowers on the Wall, and Never Going to Give You Up. I just don't like those songs, although HF adds some humor to the videos which were fun.

Even that I just are a hard core Home frie, there are a handfull of songs that I just can't digest (No, I would not name them). It's NOT HF's fault, but I just are not in to those songs. I have allways liked "Country Roads", but not John Denver, and it took me a good while, before I listen to their cover of it. And what do you know, they sang it just like I like it, slow. So I understand your aversion against some songs, they are not talking to your soul, and not even HF can change that.

I've never liked this song either. In fact I don't think I ever listened to the entire song until I heard Austin's version, which was released a few months before this version. But Austin is my favorite male singer, so I tend to like most of his solo work. I like this version OK, but I still prefer Austin's solo version.

I'm with you. I am old enough to have heard it when the Righteous Brothers did it originally. It was before other singers like the Bee Gee's and Frankie Valley were doing the high pitch singing. The pop vocal range was astonishing at the time; that and the melancholy made it catch on. Voiceplay has a cover of it, and as much as I love them, it's not a favorite. Part of the issue with theirs is that the featured artist, John Pinto who is wonderful, has the lead with VP basically backup singers. Don't bother.

I can understand not liking a song. For me, if a song has been overplayed, I take a dislike to it no matter who sings it. Or if it reminds me of a time I don't want to think about. Maybe that's the deal with this one? I know you like Home Free and what they can do so it is obvious to me that it isn't them. I do like how they went back into the history of the song as a song for a prison movie for the making of their video. Made the lyrics make much more sense really.

Thank you for your honesty. While I have admired some of the voices that have performed this drag-ass soppy excuse for a song (and Home Free did as much as anyone could -- far more than it deserved -- to justify its existence), I have never liked it either! We could start a club. There must be a few more people who can recognize good performances of poor material.

it has to be the inherent note arrangement of the song. that causes the wrong feeling hits of our emotions. I too ever cared for it for the same reasons. good song, like the high notes. but like you I never really liked it. you can change the key that its in, you can change the pitch. if you change the pacing would it be better? not so sure. for speeding it up would loose part of the song. or would it? still for some reason women like it more than men. and men just tollerate it to please their GF and wives.

Its fine if you don't like the song, totally fine. BUT what a waste of my time hearing you say that 13 times!! For God's sake, say it once, maybe twice, and move on. Do what you said - find some other songs sung by the Righteous Brothers if your followers are interested and check them out. You may decide you dislike all songs by the Righteous Brothers (still fine) or you may find that you didn't care for the Home Free version (still fine).
