Home Lash & Brow Tint

One of the easier salon treatments that you can do from home, is tinting your eyebrows and eyelashes. I've always done mine at home and find it relatively easy as long as you follow instructions and are confident.
This film takes you through the process as I tint both my eyelashes and brows at home and I'm hoping it will inspire you to try it too.

I've tinted my own lashes for years, I now use Just for Men, moustache & beard colour gel, comes in lots of shades including light brown and blonde, cheap as chips and really good. Thanks Caroline x

Nancy, does this come ready mixed? I think I might give this try on my eyebrows instead of wasting money on eyebrow pencils and gels which I cant use properly, I always finish up looking like a painted clown! 💐💐

I like to use Just For Men beard tint on my eyebrows. They come in small tubes that are reusable. Just squeeze out a small dollop of the color and a small dollop of developer in the little plastic tray mix up and apply to brows for 5 mins. They come in believable colors. Save the rest for later uses.

Well I’ve really learnt something here, I was having my eyebrows tinted as they were getting sparse and they were always too dark even though I kept asking for a lighter colour, I felt like Groucho Marx😄 so I stopped having them done. I’m now going to try this, so impressed. 😊

I’ve been using Eyelure dark brown and I’ve never gone to the salon since. It’s so good and you can leave it on for less time to start off gently.

Love this Caroline and know exactly what you mean - yes looking like an egg! I’m similar colouring and notice you did the lashes from the underside. Do you need to do the top or does it soak through? The top is where the blonde is more noticeable on my eyes.

I had by lashes tinted “professionally” prior to a week’s vacation...In my opinion, it wasn’t worth the $30 CAN that I paid. Might give this a try in future. 🇨🇦👍

I use Just for Men beard dye for my brows!!! Have for years when I decided to stop having them professionally done. I’m in Canada too and this is the easiest, cheapest solution. I mix and apply the solution with a toothpick. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

I've done this a few times using Eylure, makes a difference to my very fair lashes, not done the brow one tho as I've never seen a suitably light colour so would be interested to check out that one from Sallys. I would've liked to see you do it on one eye and one brow so we could compare before and after - as long as you obviously did the other eye/brow before you went out lol 😀 x

I get my lashes tinted occasionally at a salon before a holiday or occasion, but I only ever got my brows done once as they were too dark. I'm super fair with mid blonde hair and blonde brows/eyelashes. Even the brow colour you used looks too dark for me, but looking at the comments I may try the just for men kit. If I leave it on a minimal amount of time then it would be worth a try. I get my brows threaded so they're a good shape and still fairly full at 48. I didn't overpluck when I was young so they're still in fairly good condition. The tail is thinning slightly, but not too bad. Watching you do it has given me some confidence to give it a try so many thanks.

I’ve been doing my own lashes and brows for years same as you using an eyelash brush I’ve never ever had problems with stains I’m using julienne at the moment I find it doesn’t sting my eyes at all I leave it on about 5 mins and it lasts a month I’ve never put Vaseline around my eyes either and my lashes like you are very blonde

I do same as Elaine, below. I use the no mix version if i can. My lashes, I still use specific lash dye as have some left. I wouldn't bother paying anyone to do this for me. X

Going to try this technique. My brows are so fair, I need to wipe the tint off within 5 seconds of application. I like the back and forth technique rather than brushing the tint on as I have been doing.

I've also tinted my brows for years. I use the root touch up colour from L'Oreal or any of the ones from other makers. They come in lots of colours. I've never tried it on my lashes beause I think the fumes might sting. I might try it though.

I've tinted my lashes and brows for years now (I have blond lashes / brows, now going white 🙁) but prefer the results from the salon - they can get the tint much closer to the waterline, so the end result is much stronger. I use the Color Sport brow tint for both lashes and brows; it's the same process as the one you showed, whereas the lash tint is different and not as good (EU H&S regs I think). I do struggle with my brows, particularly as the left one takes the tint much quicker than the right one, so I often end up a bit lop sided! Don't you need a trade card for Sally's?

Caroline please can you stop using your saliva to “ clean up” around the eye .. it’s not nice to watch.. Soak some cotton buds in micellar water or just plain water.. it causes me off the scale anxiety.. I nearly lost my sight due to non hygienic practices just like this when I was younger, and very inexperienced in make up application and hygiene.

Caroline, as brilliant as she is as a make up artist, is teaching us.. and don’t think sticking a cotton bud in your saliva is a good lesson to learn when you are cleaning around your eyes. This is such an informative video Caroline! I can't thank you enough as I have several gray eye brow hairs mixed in and when i go to salon for coloring my roots my stylist puts some on my eyebrows. That s all great except eye brows grow out much faster than my hair so I have to use a gel to cover the grays until i go back to the salon. NOW, i can try this at home to never have any grays in between treatments!! Thank you!!!!
