Nam amma yavaglu oorinda tanda benneli Tuppa madoru, mattu heloru, oorina (fresh) benelli matra tuppa maralu maralaagi chennagi irutte anta. Naanu last 8,9 years inda tuppa madideeni, ashtakke ashte, enu helkollo haage iralilla. Adakke benne problem ankondidde. Aadre neevu torisiro haage madideeni except for veelyada ele. This has come out awesome every time. Reminds me of oorina benne inda tegeda tuppa. Thank you.

Absolutely new way! I either add a few drumstick or curry leaves at the end to know if it's done. Few questions - 1) Why do u add garlic cloves? Will the ghee not smell of garlic later on? 2) Do u add turmeric just for color? 3) Why do uadd a bit of jaggery after a day or two - to enhance the taste? 4) How to use the brown residue?

1. My mother too added garlic cloves (whole) in preparing ghee. I don't remember the ghee smelling of ghee ever. 2. Turmeric is only to give you a nice yellow colour. Especially if you are using buffalo milk which is whiter than cow milk. 3. Not sure. 4. My mother added stalks of betel leaves (never the leaves), roasted fenugreek seeds and cloves. So the residue (sometimes a little charred) was very flavourful. We mixed it in steamed rice and ate them as kids.
