Is it possible to play music with tin cans? Yes, we can create many different membranophones, chordophones, and idiophones from tin cans. Explanation and demonstration on the stage of TEDxClermont by Nicolas Bras.
Nicolas Bras fell in love with music at a young age. He started with the guitar, the persussions and after a trip to India that he realised that he was going to be a musician! A music teacher, Nicolas also set up workshops where he makes musical instruments and acoustic objects. In 2010, he chose to devote himself to his project, "Musiques de Nulle Part" (Musics from Nowhere) where he takes the stage to play the instruments he created.

I used auto translate on this and it was really funny when he picked up the guitar. When the sort of wahwah thing starts the auto-translator thinks it is speech so it translates it into this: "Whatever mm shame that's what good London have shame as in bad times van Rompuy mm good talk should at least stand on the same group we have the same time they will among other non m not a parent auj"

Interesting lack of can aerophones. I would think they'd be suitable for making vessel flutes, although my own crude attempts at making DIY vessel flutes has not worked so well so far. I think it has something to do with the required thickness/depth of the sounding holes that I'm missing. Still, I sometimes get a good sound if I use my hand to cover the open hole and lift my fingers in a flute style to select notes. I just cut a small hole to blow across, but I haven't figured out how to consistently get a good sound.
