It’s crazy that this show is better than anything currently on HGTV or Netflix. Way more realistic, and without the fake drama or suspense mainstream TV forces into every episode. Thanks for making this series!

The biggest problem with these flips is that they don't consider how people actually LIVE in these spaces: No counter next to the stove - crazy making. Barn door on the "primary" bedroom? NO privacy because sound goes right through it. If you put in a dining table, you have to squeeze around it to get to the patio doors. Almost no storage in the bathrooms. If you are going to convert the garage, why not leave a garden space in front? Otherwise it just screams "we converted the garage." Guess it works for a single person, but no other market.

Greetings from Europe! I'm here just to let you know that in Belgium and many other European countries a wash basin in a bedroom is quite a popular thing. People can refresh, brush their teeth, do their hair etc. in the calmness of their own bedroom. Space here is not as liberal as in America. One common bathroom for the whole house and then just a vanity for one's own use is a pretty common thing. And, really, not such a bad idea. No need to mock it. However here, 100 m2 house and 3 bedrooms with 3 bathrooms, whaaaaat?! That's a sheer waste of space given there is no pantry, no space for a regular table, no entry closet to hang one's coat, ehhh. 3 bathrooms and not a single bath tub. No. No no no! Other than that, I generally love your movies :) Great job, overall!

bruh most of the layout is kind of weird. Tons of wasted space. This house had lots of potential. Their color scheme and finishing touches are great though. And the furniture vibes with the floor and wall colors.

The TV is not only placed too high, but also facing the bedroom door. Both the sofa and the dining table are facing the TV at an angle of 45 degrees, which is really uncomfortable and the color washout will be very serious. I bet you didn't sit on the couch watching TV, and if you do, you will see image fades from the big TV. The only way to avoid that is using OLED TV, but with the big windows there, you can't get enough brightness during day time from OLED.

It's not a good idea to plant shrubs and trees near the foundation it might look nice but it will wreck havoc on the foundation after awhile. When I was a teen we bought a new house that had shrubs on the side of our garage that butted up to an alley way and they messed up the slab in the garage.

You did a great job. What's surprising is the exterior color of the house is now back in style. In spite of that, I'd paint it a different color, too. I like the color scheme you've chosen. Maybe you weren't able to design it differently but the layout of the kitchen is pretty awkward. Having the stove isolated on its own small wall and the refrigerator out in the laundry room wouldn't work for me. It would, in fact, probably make it so I dwouldn't buy the house. You probably should have made a flower bed in front of the wall where the garage door was to make it look less like a garage conversion. You can always tell when a garage has been converted because the original driveway goes up to the front wall of the house.
@357QueenBee
@357QueenBee Жыл бұрын
The garage conversion would really be less noticeable if the driveway didn’t go all the way to the wall. A grassy or a planting area would be a whole lot better. Other than that is an awesome transformation.

Came here to say the same thing. They could have even broken it up with some large concrete rectangular pads to create a walkway to the side of the house if they needed a walkway there. You can always spot these garage conversions because of the driveway going right up onto it as it was previously.

i love the flip and i like the bathroom design, but I have to say that this step in all the showers is not only a hazard (it is not contrast, so people with poor vision or anyone really could easily fall over), but also a missed opportunity for an accessible home. It is all ground-floor level and it could be ideal for a wheelchair user. think about universal design - you can make beautiful accessible spaces that fit a variety of needs, and disabled community is one minority that any of us could join at any time.

Overall, great job! However, for the cost of the exterior building, why not put an addition onto the house itself? Who wants to brave the rain just to use the outdoor space? IMO, a separate bathroom for guests is a "must", but when the door opens directly to the eating, it may prove embarrassing when nature calls. Points off for removing the garage. Not only is the vehicle's trade in value lowered, there is no place to store tools, lawnmowers, etc.

The bathroom vanity in the master would drive me nuts. There's barely any space on it to put anything. The main bath is much more functional but completely across the house from the master. I also agree the bathrooms look unfinished without the glass surrounds. I would hate having that huge window facing the driveway. You will get blasted with headlights if you are in that room and anyone comes into your driveway at night. Might not be a big deal for someone living alone. Is not having a garage common in the south? I would never buy a house without a double attached garage up north. I do love the finishes and color scheme though. black and white will always be classic.

Looks amazing! However, I'd be a little pissed about that kitchen.....I mean it looks nice......but the Fridge is waaaaayyyyy in the back room with the washer and dryer. AND the washer and dryer are closer to the kitchen than the fridge! Totally not functional. The island should have been put in freestanding and flipped vertical where the trashcan is (not a good place for a smelly trashcan) and that would have freed up the wall where the "star" wicker basket is hanging to put the fridge and build cabinetry around it. With such a tight space to work with, one doesn't need to sacrifice functionality (especially of a kitchen) in order to have a "clean-sweep" access and view through those back doors. The island would have went a little over (or maybe a smidge smaller island) into that open space. The ugly old kitchen was more functional because at least the fridge, stove, sink and dishwasher were all right there! You sacrificed functionality for aesthetics.

Overall, this was an amazing transformation! Love how the space is just super open and bright, and personally I do love the dark tile in the bathroom! Not a huge fan of the driveway going right up to the primary bedroom window - it's fine without a car in the driveway, but once you park one there it'll really impact the view. Might have been a better option to relocate the new window to the side of house / room. Also I'd be concerned about someone driving right into my bedroom and would want like a metal post or something outside that wall just in case (but maybe I'm just paranoid after that episode of Extreme Home Makeover years and years ago where someone had driven right into that family's living room). The only other thing that seemed unfinished was the yard - that addition was fantastic! But the fence to the neighbors seemed to be falling over, and the yard was left with just dirt. Perhaps there was additional landscaping / yardwork done after this was filmed - but would have loved to see that part finished. Otherwise, again, what an amazing accomplishment and great use of design to reimagine the space. Love these videos!
