I’ve edc the Range Boss in Earth Tone for about year and it’s been fine. It lives clipped in my right pocket. I don’t have any issues with the clip except sometimes it’s hard to deploy the knife (pull out). I keep a small reflective land yard from CountyCom on the clip. The Earth Tone color is so good, it disappears if you drop it on the ground/dirt. The land yard helps me spot it quickly. SMKW had some type of Cold Steel sale, bought mine for $26(?) with a few other Cold Steel knives and received a free Cold Steel Kudu knife.

Flat patch under the clip tip: Cut out a piece from a decent gauge aluminum can and cut out the size and shape of your "spot" (Many cans are super thin and are less stable for this purpose). It won't be perfect but you can refine the cutout shape with smaller dremel bits then securely tape it to the scale in position (I've found making your cutout on a _larger_ piece, refining the cutout, then cutting down the piece to size allows you to work with it easier). Carefully remove material inside the cutout leaving desired shape and a clean edge. A little at a time produces best results.

I got my range boss today and it came razor sharp using it to carve with today. A little big for detail cuts but good for processing wood for sure

The only Cold Steel I have owned was the Tuff Lite and I loved it. I tried the Busb Ranger Lite and didn't like the handles on it at all. They felt really cheap.

I do not have the range boss but I've got the Finn wolf with the same handle, in aus 8. Point being I have the same handle. The handle does not slip in your hand when sweaty. I love my cold steel knife. The one you're showing today looks nice. But it's a little too long for my liking! But for those looking for a longer knife it looks perfect!👍👍🤠🤠🎯🎯🗡🗡🔪🔪🤓🤓

The design of the knife itself I love (similar to buck 110 slim?), but not a fan of the steel they use in it and although they tend to do a good heat treat on all their steels there are just better options out there. Thanks for the great vid JB and keep making sharp things fun and enjoyable

I like Cold Steel a lot, but I’ve never understood why they think they need to make some of their clips so ridiculously strong and landing directly on pocket ripping handle texture. And it’s obviously not just you and me that feel this way - I hear comments about it all the time. There are so many simple ways they could remedy the issue too. Pretty grippy from the factory? Okay, I can deal with that. Nearly unpocketable as a knife comes from the factory? Seems a little silly to me. It’s a good looking knife, but if the steel is close to 420J2 (not to mention being combined with the clip issue), I’m out for sure.

Nah,, the clip needs some serious work, to make it user friendly, and even then, it's on the wrong end, !! Big folders should be tip down imho,, A cheap alternative to the Spyderco Stretch 2 XL tho',, 👍👍
