Would I refinish hardwood floors ever again in my lifetime? No.
Was it a great learning experience? Heck yes!
Was it the hardest thing we've done yet? Next to the tongue and groove pin ceiling in my studio, yes it's up there!
But are we thrilled with the end result? Y E S a million times YES!
Next up, paint, paint and more paint! See you soon! xx

I’m learning too, my dad advocated for me to keep the mistakes in and I’m going to in all my videos moving forward. To me, it’s more relatable!

Such a good choice in not staining, the floors look amazing. And to think of all the work the people did before leaving painting it all grey only to have someone remove it all lol goes to show you we all have different taste and styles. Looking forward to more of your home reno and decor! ♥️

If you ever refinish floors again you should use something called a jigger sander instead of a drum sander. It takes off waaaay less wood. That way, you can refinish the floors again in the future if they need it.

Whoa, amazing JOB! It looks incredible in the end. That was such an insane amount of work and it's just so mind boggling that anyone would use so much grey on the walls, floor, everything. I'd be so depressed living with those colours on a regular basis. I was also so worried when I saw the redness of the original stain but it's so great to see that you persevered and ended up with the perfect golden shade. SO MUCH BETTER! Can't wait to see how you decorate.

If you havent done downstairs yet there's an HGTV show called Hometown and they have someone do their flooring all the time. He had a tip for if you have different types of flooring and want the stain to look the same on all of them... There's sone sort of base coat that will allow the stain to only sit on top of the wood (or something) instead of soaking in which is when it starts to be a different color. Maybe you could talk to someone about that?
