Follow along this 45 day journey as I post weekly videos on Fridays showing the entire process of refinishing my basement. I have 45 days left before my contract to my wife expires. Posting weekly videos will help me stay on track HOPEFULLY.

“You won’t do it. I know you. You will quit half way through no matter how much energy you must in the beginning.” - my dad using reverse psychology Only time I ever finished the year’s scripture study program for the youth was the year my dad said that to me.

I remember watching your original contract video all the way back then...boy how time flies!! Jordan, just think about how Owen will watch these as he's older as "home videos" on how you did back then! You wanna make the boy proud!! (I made my own contract to finish up a writing project soon, which I WOULD be working on if I wasn't ill, I swear)
@JordanTaylorVideos5 ай бұрын
That will be cool if he finds interest in these at some point. It’s kind of cool to document remodeling stuff to the house that he lives in for later on when he gets older to see what it used to be like.

Go Jordan! You’ve got this! I love seeing how God is blessing you with big things (your son’s life) and the little things (having *just* the perfect amount of cable so you don’t have to buy more). ❤🙌🏻🎉 He’s so good!

Honestly I have so much respect for your honesty. Scrolling is a killer of time and ultimately our lives. I’m 21 and haven’t finished high school (homeschool) and honestly I could have finished it three years ago if I didn’t spend so much time procrastinating. Keep up the good fight Jordan. Sadly though I’m not going to watch all your updates in the interest of keeping myself focused on all the tasks in my life I put off day after day.

I love this series already! I like how you mentioned that you were starting at 4:30pm the second day. Most of the time, if something happens that takes up a lot of my day, I think that I can't work on any projects because the day has been "wasted." In reality, there's still time to get things done, even if it's only a relatively small amount of progress made. Good luck! Thanks for the motivation!

I get the less scrolling will give you more time, but I feel like the bigger lesson that should actually be learned here is that it is God who actually knows what can happen in the future. You can forgive yourself for not meeting the deadline because you are not God and didn't know the future. Yes, you made a plan, but your mentality should have been/should be like that in James, "if God wills..." You didn't know He would bless you with a baby, but He did. Yes, you made a plan. But you need to remember that you're following His plan, not your own. Yes, you made a plan, but we have to be flexible with our own agenda in order to follow His. So if your baby and wife need you, or if you need rest, it's ok not to finish this "in (your) time." Just be diligent and you will get it done in His time.

this video came at a good time. i also feel like ive bitten off a little more than i can chew recently, & it has been quite the test of my character in a way i didnt quite expect. been hard to juggle all of my projects as well as this little vlog, tho maybe filming more of the actual process of my days like with this video, rather than simply giving a summary of the day at the end, might be a little motivator that i need. youve got 43 days to go, ive got about 8 months left until the next big life-changing moment. we can do this!

You are doing great! I love the inspiration... We are trying to get our 1800s farmhouse liveable so we can move out of the rental before baby #6 comes in 6-8 weeks 😳 it seems impossible, especially ad it is only my husband (who also works full time), the children and I mainly working on it... But we are doing our best and tackling one thing at a time. The little blessings of having "just enough" moments keep us focused on God and all He had blessed us with. Thanks for the encouragement... I was literally just thinking that, for this project, Jordan needs to learn a mandarin phrase that is so so handy and English simply doesn't have a good equivalent. “加油!” (jīayó) --- literally "add oil", a.k.a. "add petrol/fuel/gas" Whether shouted with gusto at a sporting event or whispered gently to a grieving friend, it indicates any and all of: hang in there, you've got this, keep it up, I feel for you, you can do this, don't give up, etc. Jiayo Jordan!
