I have been online schooling for exactly 3 years and I’m currently on my 3rd rn and when I was toured to my “soon to be actual school next year” last week, u bet that I was acting like an alien like bro even my parents think that I should try to act more “normal” because of the way I behave when I am out in public. 🙃

I took 3/4 of a school year online schooling back in 6th grade. It was an unorganized mess with little authority. Classes consited of 95% of the class having their cameras off and muted. Small groups were awkward sessions of people typing in the chat. And by 4th quarter, it manifested a structure of confusion and complications.

​@@JUNSKULLY. Out of the past 3 years, the year I was in virtual school blows the 2 public school years out of the water. I am a straight-A student, and I can tell you that my post-virtual school years have shattered any hopes I had for a job not in fast food. Virtual school allowed me to get my stuff done easier, better, and more efficiently. Public school forced me to spend two years in classes consisting of the exact kind of student that I despise with a burning passion: the kind that rarely gets their work done and blames everybody else for things that were either their fault or non-problematic. Virtual school gave me an environment where I could succeed. Public schools gave me an environment where I couldn't.

I've been homeschooled the whole way through and ngl it depends on where you live. The state that I live in the homeschoolers are considered equivalent in the eyes of the school board. Which means I've played sports and all of the other extracurricular activities that I wanted to do. I could take whatever classes at my local high school I wanted to. And the homeschool community is so large I was always at homeschool events as well. Got plenty of social interactions. Mileage may vary though, my area is great for homeschooling but not a lot are. And also you do run in to the occasional sheltered homeschoolers too but they just made things interesting. Also I'd rather try to talk to them then the quite kid in most schools where you question how stable they are mentally lol

During the bovid online school I did absolutely no work to the point where my parents were getting calls and emails saying that I did absolutely no work. My parent that was taking care of me during that time was my dad who was a teacher we all (dad, sister, me) went into a office to work, but I never attended classes and always used the art class assignments as an excuse to do no work. EX. "I am doing work, this site is for my art class (pulls up a art site posted in classroom at the start of bovid), see I am doing my work." then my dad would say something like "Ok, keep it up." and would walk away. Whenever I wasn't being watched I would just play something like Minecraft and have a hell of a time.

ONLINE SCHOOL SUCKS , home school is nice, public school is mid In online school I wake up early all alone bored or hungry in the class as always get a snack or something, I stay in The bed sometimes fall asleep bored and do the work, homeschool I wake up at the time I want I do it when i want I eat when I want and feel well, public school I feel ok tired in the morning but alright talk with my friends have some fun REALLY BORING CLASSES BUT EVERY GRADE IS DIFF BECAUSE OF THE TEACHERS then lunch, the food is terrible and I don’t eat that well UNTILL I get out of school and then I could eat some stuff. In conclusion for me home schooling is the best one out of all.

Bro Germany is a menace with school rules. I've heard from my teachers that there could be a hurricane, train employees protesting and school burned down and they would still expect me to be at school 7:45 in the morning. Like I've had 7 hours of sleep on a good day man. Let me chill. Pandemic was literally the best thing that ever happened for me sleep cycle.

The analysis of online school as presented in the video only illustrates synchronous online learning. However, the majority of online schools will likeley use an asyncronous model, meaning that the lectures will be pre-recorded and you do the coursework on your time, but still adhere to due dates. Generally, online schools are not like public schools, in the sense that you will have the same general experience accross different schools; It's going to depend on the teachers, software, and the quality of the coursework. For tests and quizzes, you can't really cheat on them unless the test is proctored, as a quiz is just answering questions from the course material (meaning that it's open-book). Overall, real online school is nothing like "distance-learning" durring the pandemic because the students and teachers are very familiar with the expectations and structure of online learning. Therefore, online school is not "Public School at Home"; it's simply is an alternative education model.

During Covid online school, I skipped a ton of classes, and legitimately never went to English class because of the teachers political agenda. And I was failing almost all of the classes the entire year until the end of the school year.

I believe that homeschooling should be more appropriate for high schoolers, cause it probably could affect the younger kids more greatly. Younger kids are more suspectible to the harms that loneliness and isolation could cause. Thankfully I did go to public school until the 9th grade. I already have a weak mental health, I couldn't imagine if I got homeschooled from an earlier age.

I've always gotten into flamewars over this, but my genuine position is: I'm 0% in favor of home school except for students with special needs or circumstances. (This does include mental issues). HOWEVER, I do also strongly believe in public school reform, because in an ideal system the vast majority of special needs students would still benefit from in-person school, though home school should still exist for that minority. In addition, the state should provide professional teachers for homeschool students, which would definitely be doable especially if we keep homeschool students at a tiny minority. Online school is different, because while it has its downsides, they aren't as major since they'll have professionally curated coursework, actual teachers, sometimes interactions with other online school students, etc. I did online school for a very very brief period of elementary school, and while it wasn't for me I could definitely respect it. In fact, they even had periodic real-life meetups.
