i’ve attended both sides and, from my experience, my private school is more lenient than public. jewelry is fine, having phones out is fine, can go out during lunch breaks etc. My Public school without warning would send people in to detention or expelled them right away if they had their hood up.

I went to an innercity school. They was lenient af cuz if they were too strict they probs end up kicking out most of the students. You could get away with walking through the school blasting a speaker and if you slapboxed in the bathroom and got caught most times teachers would tell yall to stop and leave you with a warning.

I used to go to a private school, and boy did the tuition fees go to good use. High tech interactive whiteboards I have yet to see in public school, a library so big it probably exists in a pocket dimension, interior design that made school look so good I would actually not mind living in it and this giant climbing frame that gave kids burns and injuries every day. It was amazing. I have yet to see a public school with these specs. Still the tuition fee was around 20k every semester per student which kinda explains everything.

My public school actually has an interactive whiteboard in every room, doesn’t mean that teachers know how to use it very well though. We have CTE rooms that are particularly nice, with carpet and padded wheely office chairs with desktop computers. One of the rooms even has three separate projectors in it. Lacking the giant climbing frame :(

as someone who goes to a private school, i can assure you that we have the most mediocre infrastructure ever 💀 the community is okay, though. most of the teachers care and there isn’t a whole lot of bullying. my school covers pre-k through 12th grade, elementary and middle school students have to wear pretty mid-looking uniforms, but when you get to high school, you just have to follow a dress code. you can wear all the jewlery you want and can dye your hair as long as you don’t end up looking like a highlighter.

As someone who has attended both, I much preferred private school. The public school did seem more lenient on rules, but the private schools were not quite as strict as they thought. The teachers were firm on the rules, yet a lot of them more caring and passionate then those at public school. However, the private school had an amazing community and enjoyed it much more than public school.

As an American who’s been to both private and public schools, this was pretty accurate except from my experience, private schools were less strict on rules/dress code than public schools and the teachers weren’t necessarily overqualified either (my private school wasn’t a prep or prestigious school so that’s probably why). Have to admit, you definitely got field trips on point though. At private school, the majority of my field trips were overnight trips and we got to go to a bunch of exciting places within the state (Georgia). One time all of 8th grade (year 9) basically went on a one week trip throughout basically the entire state and it was probably one of the most fun trips I’ve been on. Compared to public schools, other than one overnight trip, the most fun we got to go to were museums and ngl, they were fun, but unmatched compared to private school trips. I don’t go to that private school anymore, but I did hear from one of my friends there that the seniors (year 13) get to go on an overnight trip to Washington DC, so yeah that should be pretty fun for them.

I went to private school. I do think you get what you pay for. The lunches while not crazy were still pretty good with lots of choices. The teachers had really high-level education and felt a lot like my college professors. The classrooms and facilities were kept clean and of nice quality. The campus also had really good security with routine monitoring and gated access. The dress code though was very strict, and I would get in trouble for simply forgetting a belt or wearing the wrong color of socks. Also, one day a week we had to wear full suits with blazer, button up shirt, and tie. Classes also started at 7:30am which was a bit early to me. The school was a college preparatory school and formally military based so there was a huge amount of classwork, tests, and homework to complete. But even though that was annoying I think it greatly helped me prepare for college and graduate university with my engineering degree without much issue. One time in high school we even had an extended field trip to one of the Walt Disney theme parks which was a lot of fun. Although not a lot of learning happened that week. 😆

I remember one time, the private school tried to ban people from wearing athletic shorts (an event which I am certain had a story behind it) It ended up like the prohibition of alcohol in the US: No one listened to the rule and many teachers didn't enforce it, so they just gave up with that rule.

I've attended both and let me tell you, public school teachers taught better than my private school teachers, but the main problem I had with my teachers were in math where every teacher I had sucked at teaching it. One thing I liked about private schools was were we could talk about anything and not have to worry where in public schools you are constantly fearing that someone overheard your conversation. Another thing I liked about my private school was that there was a system called merits and demerits where if you were bad enough over time, eventually you would get a detention, not like public school were immediately you were sent to detention.

Here in Germany it completely varies from school to school. Private schools are much less common. We have 4 main types of high schools (Hauptschule, Realschule, Gesamtschule, Gymnasium) and they teach stuff at different levels of complexity. To get to university after graduating is not as easy if you haven't been to a better type of high school. Specifically for my Gymnasium (a public school), to enter in 5th or 7th grade they look at your grades from prior years and there is an entrance exam. This whole entrance phase can become super competitive when your school has a very good reputation and your area is very populated. Only a select number of applicants will be picked for the school
@zekiz774

Can confirm private schools will take underperformers. I didn't give a crap about school but parents sent me to private. Passed entrance exams but got put in the lowest class full of troublemakers which was basically a public school environment anyway, not much learning going down but some real goofing by all concerned. They gave us the angriest teachers to make sure we passed exams with good enough grades but holy was it drama in class every day. Meanwhile higher classes got super smart and even friends with teachers, everyone knew we were the dumb kids so we acted like it.

Went to a private school for the majority of my life, but unfortunately, I had to leave mid-school year for financial reasons. I'm currently attending a public school and honestly, it's not as bad as most in my area would think, but there are certainly A LOT of things administration could improve on. One of the things I have been able to atleast view both aspects with an open mind, and set aside some bias I had about public schools. I do wish I was back at my old school, not only for the academic benefits but the community I was practically ingrained in over time. But everything happens for a reason in life, I guess, and my "future" is just getting started

Coming from someone who’s been to both (private for 5 yrs and public for 4 yrs) I’ve actually learnt more efficiently at public schools. When I first transferred to a public school I noticed everyone was sm smarter which tbh pushed me further. I also found the teachers were ig overqualified? But they really went beyond what they had to, whereas it was the least amount of work possible for teachers at private school. Also there weren’t as many snobby rich kid stereotypes at my public school.

i’m pretty much the same but i went to public for 4 and then transferred to private for 5. honestly, when i went over to private school, i felt the kids were stuck up and way more bratty, and the teachers really did nothing about it. and you’re right, the kids were smarter in public school. i’ve only been to public school from k-4th grade so i can’t really say anything too big abt public schools, but i really want to go back.

As somebody who spent the majority of her childhood in a really small private school (that’s literally a suburban house) I can’t say I’ve experienced a lot of the things listed in this video. The school I went to was an amateur establishment, we didn’t have to wear uniforms (and there was no dress-code that I knew of), there were two classrooms, certain days had certain events such as a movie day and a day where we can literally do whatever we want called “Fun-Friday”. the teachers were pretty strict and not qualified to be teaching children (one of whom being a literal anti-vaxxer), and would be sometimes very opinionated about the stuff they teach (such as history, science, and humanities), there were also punishments for rule breakers like being sent to the “Break room” which is a cold, dark room with a cushioned chair, and/or losing “fun-Friday”. I personally didn’t get the best education from there and I realized that in my early teens so I left, Now I am homeschooled and dealing with academic issues partially because of my old private school.

I've been to both and public schools are definitely stricter, I once got a detention for wearing my coat inside once. But at private school, they lock your phone in your head of year's office in a box all day so you can't touch it, and like you said so branded coats or even branded socks!

The worst part about schools are the time of going there. Humans from different ages have different internal clocks, for teenagers its from 11pm to 10am while adult have it earlier while also needing less sleep. The sleep we lose cuz of it is like the most important time of sleeping and its mandetory for development of the brain.

I went to a private school but no one was vetted so basically half the kids were rich snobs and the other half was rich kids that were kicked out of public schools. It was also strict asf like someone got detention because the logo on his school shirt fell off in the washer. My family was no where near the level of rich that they charged but my parents are also highly religious and they didn’t want me being taught evolution so I basically went 2 years before we ran out of money and I needed to go to public school and by my experience public school is 1000x better. Basically the private school I went to was exactly like public school (in the education sphere my private school once hired a prostitute as a middle school science teacher) except there were no school plugs and it was incredibly strict so it was a little worse.

I went to private school for high school and we had a more lax dress code my senior year than the public schools. Never had a uniform and they allowed girls to wear yoga pants and then later on they could wear tank tops. Also my school never gave any detentions, even for disruptive kids. They did suspend and expel students but detention was not a thing at our school. In addition the teachers were usually really good but we sometimes got teachers that had a great personality and were great people, but not the best teachers. Oh and the food at our school was AWFUL I never ate it unless it was free

Lmao I was in the middle, having gone to a Catholic primary school and a public high school. Catholic schools are not quite private schools, but they're close. We paid $2k AUD or smth a year per student I think. Could we afford it? Lmao no, we were still in debt by the time my youngest sister graduated, 13 years after I started, but it's nowhere near private school or high school tuition fees. There was a lot of families like that too, who just wanted their kids to go to a decent school where the kids weren't all batshit insane...mostly. I'm glad I went overall. I'm not religious, but it was a good foundational school at the time, and felt like a community where the parents and teachers were really close and actually gave a shit about the kids. The public high school was batshit insane and a big wake-up call, and I loved that too haha.

I love the video idea! However, I have attended both public and private school and there is a big difference. This being said your description of private school is funny but not accurate. I went to the best private school in my state but aside from the average one or two strict teachers, the rules were the same. The kids either didn’t do really bad things or did the much less because on average private schools have a much lower grade population. So this made it a very tight knit community so if you did something everyone knew. Also private school kids were better mannered but not all were rich. Over half including myself were there on scholarships or financial aid.

As an American who has gone to a private school their whole life, I’d say some of this is accurate. Normally we don’t go on field trips THAT BIG, or it could just be other private schools out of our state do that. Some private schools allow jelwery like ours, but ours can be strict in different ways.

My school (a public school) is a mix between both of these like our trips to the other side of the world, such as Europe, but we also have some things from public schools in this such as not so great teachers it's weird ig like stated it varies from place to place which I guess is true but like my city is not a posh city at all and the students drop out by year 10 in fact its got the lowest grades in the country for a high school but the actual private schools don't have half the things like international field trips. It would be interesting to map every school out in the world and see what it's like if there's a pattern or not.
