Since Otter Creek is a recognized entity within the state of Florida, what would it take for one or a group of concerned citizens to request a state authorized audit of all accounts concerning the use of government grant money, contract irregularities associated with the public water system, and other issues that have been raised over the past 2 or more years? It would make for interesting observations when the results were presented, hopefully just before subpoenas and arrest warrants for fraud, misappropriation of monies, and other violations.

I was speaking about havig a state agency do the audit where they would require the information be provided along with the proper documentation and justification for revenues, expenses, banking data, and other information typically required in an audit. Hopefully we will hear more about various actions soon.

Here is what you can do,I was on a town board in Indiana .The two board members and myself thought something was fishy with the town treasure, things was not adding up,So we contacted the state to come and do audit and things went really south long story short she was writing out check to her self for things we did not sign for she got fired and had to pay back thousands of dollars to the state continued

After the treasure got caught stealing ang getting fired .Myself and the other two board members brought to the town to have a vote to give the town back to the state / county .The vote passed and the town was no longer a corporation. By law if work is to be done at least 3 appraisal must be taken and the least amount must be approved and no family member of any state held positions can not be chosen to do the job,that would be a conflict of interest. I would call the state ask for a audit you have a right to ask.i have seen the videos of there town hall meetings totally done wrong.all bills to be paid must be sign off by each board member on a document for each check made out for any bill to be paid.So illegal what I have seen on there meetings.

In our town that is bigger than Otter Creek, but still seen as a small town we take a photo of our water meter reading and then whatsapp it to the lady in charge of the accounts. The meter is legally called the demark or point of demarcation. That means it is where the cities responsibility ends and yours begins. You can call a plumber and install a backflow valve without the permission or any restriction by the city or anyone else as long as the valve meets whatever code requirements may exist. I am surprised you have not installed a backflow valve by now to correct the reading for the LARC building.
