@@HomeTheaterHobbyist , couldn't you just use the y adapter for 1 pre-out on back of receiver to L/R on Subwoofer. Get the male plugs on other end instead of female. Or would it drowned it out? Assuming that booms would only play on right side. Left side would be nothing or am I over thinking this?
@LFC-Star5 жыл бұрын
either works fine as a sub only carries a mono signal.. You can connect another sub into the L one if you want.. With another phono cable.. or a Y SPLITTER into each if you intend to run 4 subwoofers? Running 4 subs is a good idea.. 2 in the front sound stage (forward facing). Then 2 smaller downfiring subs in each corner behing the listening position. To connect those up you use shorter subwoofer phono cables between the subwoofers on the rear. In short one of the front subs has a phono sub cable connected to the receiver then a longer sub cable from the front R sub to the sub R side in the rear. Then do the same with the L side. Then run a sub cable between the 2 rear subwoofers to complete the curcuit.
@KIDSIXoo5 жыл бұрын
Why wouldn't it make sense that there are 2 inputs both wire and RCA clearly labeled (Left) And (Right) Red and white that its a dual voice coil sub woofer? On my 4 subs 2 of them have L and R inputs and I have tested with single and dual connections and when both are hooked up it gains decibels. Common sense.?

Thanks for the informative video. My Onkyo TX-NR686 does not have a large or small speaker option, just says "full band, or set crossover depending on speaker size". All my low signals go to the mains and center, and almost none to my sub. My Fluance DB 12's do not have an lfe, just line in. Have the crossover on sub all the way up, phase on "regular" and even with volume 3/4 up, almost no bass. The cable is plugged into subwoofer pre out on AVR, and into line in on sub with a Monoprice sub cable. Any ideas what the problem could be? Thanks.
@HomeTheaterHobbyist4 жыл бұрын
When you run the Onkyo speaker calibration do you hear audio from the sub when it sends a test sound to th sub? If not you may not be getting audio to the sub, first I’d switch cables then maybe inputs on the sub if you have multiple inputs, then try the same on the Onkyo if you have multiple sub outputs. If you are getting sound during auto calibration you could also try setting your speakers crossover setting to 80Hz instead of “Full band”. That will send more bass signal to the sub.

The sub have a "left and right" input and the cord you mentioned "male and female 2x.. the TV outputs have 1 Arc hmdi, 2 HDMI, 1 optical digital out: which is hooked to the soundbar... And components av 6 I believe..is it possible to run the left and right out of the components into the power based subwoofer left and right "in".. 0 should be fine for phase. Just make sure the sub’s cone is moving in the same direction as the remaining speakers. If it doesn’t then adjust the phase. I would move the sub’s crossover to “AVR” or something high that way there is no confusion on the crossover setting.

Did you watch the video? You will need two rca cables of appropriate length and a splitter for said cables. Connect the splitter to one subwoofer output on the AVR, connect both subwoofers to the splitter. The reason being is auto room corrections do not independently set levels and eq for subs, they’re calibrated as if they are one subwoofer. The “.1” in “7.1” or “5.1” Ensure that both subs are plying at equal volume from your MLP using an SPL meter before calibrating them in the AVR.

I don't think you'll need to connect both. The easiest way to determine what you needs to be connected is: connect both connections, play a track with bass that you know (a bass frequency like 40Hz will work). Stop the track, (disconnect power) remove one connection. Play the same again and see if you hear any difference.

I just bought a 7.2 Reciever and for some reason the subwoofer option only gives me for one sub 7.1. Why won't the for 7.2 come up. Any thoughts?

What is the point of having 2 rca input connectors on a subwoofer (L and R) if you only need to connect to one?

Hello 👋🏼 how do I connect the tv and my receiver to be able to see the settings on my tv screen. 🙆🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️. I have a Yamaha with 5 hdmi and an arc Thank you

Hmmmm that's a good question........ the AVR should be passing the video signal right through so you should be able to see the TV menu without issue. Try a different HDMI connection and cable. I'd try HDMI ARC first. Hopefully this helps. 😀

If i only need one cable to connect amp to sub why are there 2 connectors on the sub ( red and white) ?

Is there any particular reason the RCA cable was inserted in the subwoofer right insert?
@HomeTheaterHobbyist4 жыл бұрын
No, either one can be used. If one doesn’t work for some reason just try the other.

I’m hoping you or someone can help answer this question for me: I own a Behringer VQ1500d Powered PA Subwoofer. I also have a Denon AVR-S540BT receiver that I’m going to use for my home theater. Is it possible/safe to connect my Behringer subwoofer with xlr inputs to my receiver’s subwoofer Pre OUT?

when you initially plugged the cable into the sub and the receiver, you said "you plug it in there, then you plug it in there"... there are two inputs under SUBWOOFER on my receiver. which one does it go in?
