It's got to be a whole lot more enjoyable to see what's outdoors whenever you want instead of having your back to it all the time.

I like that now you can look outside from the sofa. Also, I think the black framed picture you have there looks great with the 2 gold floor lamps in back of the sofa. Otherwise the gold frame with the gold lamps would, to me, look too matchy matchy gold. The regency sofa would look awesome.

An art light above the print above the sofa. A single floor lamp to the right of the sofa (if you are facing it) and replace the sofa with something more Regency inspired!

That's some hard work...hope you had TWO donuts! It looks great. I think the larger art piece with the art light would be terrific...the colors are so good and the size looks great, once you get it moved. It's so sweet that you don't let Cornelius jump and you put him gently on the floor. This was fun, sort of behind the scenes!

I love how you start: "Hey, there, hi!" Without knowing the dimensions of this room, I wondered what the desk would look like if it were placed horizontally in the space instead of vertically (which is how I see it currently). And, that Regency style sofa would look fabulous in your space. Once and done if your incorporate an antique piece instead of the boucle sofa!

Quite a few people have suggested turning the desk, The room is just wide enough to pull it off but that's how I had it before. I'm going to try this out for a few weeks and see how it's working out!

I think you should switch to a more Regency style sofa, it would feel more balanced with the other pieces you have in the room. Maybe in a blue velvet?

❤Oh my goodness that boucle sofa is so nice. It's so beautiful!!! You should sell it and get a Regency style Duncan Phyfe looking antique because it would just totally fit the narrative of the space so much better - and would look *SO* gorgeous!!! I bet if you asked your generous and kind hubby, he would do it. He obviously has fabulous taste!❤

Oh wow!! The layout looks fantastic. I'd love to see you carry the Federal Style vibe of the downstairs into your office! It would be cohesive! Maybe in a color that contrasts with the walls, like blue or gold, or blue and gold!

I would consider Wall sconces on either side of the artwork, situated a bit lower (to not distract from the artwork.) I would also choose a portrait light that is less visible. Situ Lighting in Sarasota, FL has great micro portrait lights that illuminate well but are unobtrusive if that is what you may be looking for.

I thought of that but in order to get the artwork in the camera frame it has to be hung quite low, I think it might be odd down the line if I have random sconces hung that low, and I don't want plugs hanging down. Maybe battery operated lights though?

First things first, that green top is GIVING! Seriously, it’s such a beautiful color green and it really looks great on you! I love your blend of traditional and modern pieces, and your new rug is beautiful in your space! I too love a traditional and classic space, but recently have started really liking more postmodern and Art Deco pieces so I’ve been trying to find a way to incorporate that into my more classic and traditional style. Would love to hear your thoughts on blending traditional and postmodern, because I’ve been STRUGGLING. We may be moving pretty soon so I’m trying to start working on the moodboards for my new space. I also love seeing Cornelius and it’s super cute how you wouldn’t let him jump down from the couch. I have pet rabbits and can relate to being a protective and stressed fur parent! Loved this little makeover! Thanks for sharing and I’m looking forward to any future home updates. ☺️

I loved this. I used to move my living room around a lot when I was your age 😂. Can’t do that in this place so I lived vicariously through you today. Also, that desk is a work art 😮. Absolutely gorgeous. I also like the current picture over the sofa. Maybe you could move the sofa down toward the desk a wee bit centering it under the picture as opposed to moving the picture. And by all means, you are so correct bout the sofa! Time to change that out!! 😊.

I’m actively rearranging my living room atm. Yesterday was day one, I’ll hopefully finish today. I have this set of little movers, 4 casters attached to a flat pad that you put under each leg and that way you can roll heavy furniture around to move it. They are amazing for home rearranges! I love the boucle sofa but maybe it’s time for an update? Something as grand as the desk maybe? 😇

Your boucle sofa is so beautiful I think you could sell it and get good money for it so that you could purchase a Regency style Duncan Phyfe looking sofa as that style would go so much better with the overall look, style and vibe of the room!! I like the new layout but those prospective floor lamps look so angular and hard. For a minute I thought they were lighting equipment. Maybe choose new lamps after you get a new sofa? I see the appeal of something angular when you have a lot of curvy furniture but I think there must be better choices. Also, placed in front of the art, their shape too much resembles the corners of the picture frames.

You and Corny are adorbs. When I move furniture/rugs I sweep/mop, needed or not. I wouldn't consider a cow hide rug but I would change out the bifold doors, knobs...something. The existing sofa is fine, except for the ball pillows...lol.

A big 👍to the new arrangement! I love how you unblocked the energy by moving the desk to the other side of the room. Now Cornelius (and others) can sit or lay on the sofa and daydream while looking out the doors to the outside. I actually wouldn't choose the floor lamps that hang over the seating area of the sofa- someone could hit their head on a lamp, or God forbid a bulb breaks... The horizontal brown framed picture with an art light above it , above the sofa would be fantastic. Another picture above it would take away from the picture by competing for attention. The new position of the desk is perfection- having closed storage beside it is wonderful for easy access. All that being said, maybe you don't need the mirror. Perhaps the mirror would be better suited to a different locale in your home. I think you might even use it in a bathroom- it could be really glamorous!(Maybe a bathroom where you rarely use the shower.) I actually love the feel of your current white sofa. The newly designed room looks great, and gives off comfortable, professional, and approachable. ❤😊

I like your new arrangement Garrett - a Regency style sofa in the room would definitely add. I do have one question - how do you manage to keep your pets (ie Cornelius) from ruining the hide rug? Anything real hide or sheepskin I get immediately becomes the potty patch or the chew toy (my dogs are totally trained in every other scenario).
