He plays very tenderly. A very modern romantic interpretation, one of the better ones in my opinion, great tempo. Thank you Augustin Hadelich.

Love this. Have always wondered if the notion that "authentic" Baroque playing requires the violin to sound harsh is correct.

I just would like to take the opportunity to thank you Maestro Hadelich. In this time of isolation and restrictions for CoViD19 your "practice" from home is a greater joy than it would be in normal times. I believe it will be impossible to see you in Sydney this year, but i definitely hope to have the opportunity in the future

I am melting with the unbelievable beauty and meaningfulness of this, just hanging on every stunningly gorgeous note, perfect to calm us during this surreal time. Thank you sooo much!!! I like this calmer version the best of the two, although both versions are so touching and centering! Your playing of Bach brings a touch of heaven to earth which we need right now!! 'Hadelich plays Bach' is the perfect combination of composer and interpreter for these times! I am actually grateful you waited until now to practice (and hopefully soon record??) these - there could not be a better time for it!

Ha. I don't know if I even feel something right now. I listened to both a few times, and the faster one is very soothing. I'm partial to this one, though. It leaves me agitated, awake. Aware of the music. Focus is indeed needed to follow. But after I really listened to it I felt as if I was sitting with someone who is completely silent. We would be in a magnificent space. As if the beauty of this imagined scenery was the focus for everyone else who had ever come upon this scene, but I only want to know what my companion is. What he is thinking. I want badly to communicate. But I sit, in complete silence. It's a strange thought. The image stays, after the music ends. Only in this tempo, though. Does it feel like something concrete to play it?

One question: third measure (0:31"): E flat or E natural? In the manuscript it is written natural, but usually everyone (including you) plays E flat...
@AugustinHadelichViolin11 ай бұрын
There are some musicians who advocate for E natural but it’s the subject of fierce debates! Compare with the recapitulation (bar 16) where it is A flat. It must be E flat in bar 3, the two basslines are the same (just transposed) in the exposition and recap. E natural sounds too much like Hindemith, it would not be part of Bach’s vocabulary. Also it’s E flat during the first beat in a higher octave.

Would you make a short video about vibrato, to help us, your fans who are also quarantined?!? Thankful
Love the bow! Do you feel that your have to weight the chords differently? Also, do you roll them differently with this bow? (This piece I've actually played :)) Your musical phrases are very well planned out and executed so organically.
