I’d use 20T hydraulic jack and header and jack up the floor first. It makes removing structural glass much safer+quicker fix.

The dry Teflon works great for zippers plastic or metal.

Why would you ever silicone it down? What if it needs replaced again? Silicone is darn near impossible to remove!
