I am 68 and learned to ride a motorcycle 12 years ago, did the safety course and a few cornering days at the race track. I was riding my bike(a 2003 BMW R1150RS) and realized that if I wanted to go on extended trips (I am thinking of going to visit my brother in Texas from Niagara/Canada), I will have to do something about my fitness and, within a week, here comes you fitness video! Godsent! Half-way through my vacations in July. I have been doing it for 3 months, just one rep and skipped the jui-jit-su dance and adapting my push-ups to my ability,and the change is as dramatic as it is unexpected! Even my wife has to agree that it has changed me. You do the work of angels (in a Matrix type of way). I just promoted to 2 reps yesterday and I feel better than I have in a long time. Even thinking of picking up tennis again. Thanks for your passion and dedication! My whole thinking about riding has changed.

Before applying for my motorcycle licence I already kept me in shape, especially legs and with stretching exersises. I had to pick up my bike three times already. It helped tremendously. I had no problems picking it up. So yeah, fitness is more important when you ride a bike than driving a car. Obviously. ^^

I'm a 38 yo female in the midst of taking lessons here in Japan, have my peepers on the Honda 400cc super4. LEt me just say with much emphasis, "THAT BIKE IS HEAVY" I am excited to buid my core more for riding. It's been my dream to be a motorcyclist since my teens, but then life happened, had 3 kids, who are now old enough to handle themselves, and now,,,,,,finally am trying to reach that dream. MotoJitsu has helped me in soooooo many ways, given me a lot of tips and advice that noone would normally tell you. Keep up this great channel and skill.

I am 64 and have been doing the Total Control Exercises 3 times a week for a few months. It has made real big difference (I often think, just as much as riding practice). I still have a long way to go to where I want to be and will add these 9 exercises where I can to my mix (which also includes 12 Chi Gong exercises I used to do before Kung Fu training many years ago :-). But in saying all that... really appreciate this video. Many thanks! (again)

Situps - you said we have to go all the way back till the head touches the ground, relax for a second and repeat. Won't that take the stress (contraction) away from the stomach and therefore be less effective? Isn't it true that it any exercise, the range of motion should exert maximum contraction during the set (building up the extent of contraction with each rep) on the target set of muscles? By relaxing the body after each rep, won't the extent of contraction reduce and thereby decrease the effectiveness?

Good video but a couple of pointers if it's ok with you. On the pushups, keep your elbows tucked into your sides, don't flare them out and keep your head back more so that you can touch your chest with each rep but don't cheat and stick your chest out. Athlean X and Fitness FAQ give some great tips for brilliant push ups. With the dead lift technique, this one's a bit hard to explain unless you see someone do it but keep your core closer and if you were lifting weight, the bar has to pretty much be touching the legs so when it gets up to knee height, then you drive the hips forward and keep the core tight. Your back would be in bits if you lifted weight like that. 7:56 that's good but if you ever get bored of it, there's a variation called 'Angels of Death' you keep your body in a static hold position while you move your arms like your doing but keep them straight and move them slowly from your behind to infront of your head and back, repeat. It's only a simple move but bloody hell it takes it out of you when you do many =P 11:20 those are really good but again if you ever want more variety to it, taker hands off the floor and keep them by your chest, move the legs in and out a bit more slowly and controlled too, it really burns after a while. Ride safe.
@MotoJitsu
@MotoJitsu 6 жыл бұрын
lol you said you good video then asked if you can give a couple of pointers without me replying if it was ok or not...lol you said your pointers regardless. Yes, there are many others ways to workout and make everything harder etc. This is just a quick workout to get the blood flowing that aren't too complicated or hard for the average person.

king of all exercise is the deadlift, the queen is squad,, jack is pushups these three will keep ur heart pumped up and u will gain muscle too.. cause these are the big muscles in ur body, back, leg and chest. if u do these exercises at least once a week u will not get any blockage in ur heart. cause ur heart will run so fast during these exercises do 10counts and 3 or 2 reps.

I really want to get on track with fitness. I reckon if I could dedicate at least 1 hour in the morning for a 10min walk, 30mins of these exercises and then 20 mins of rest/shower I would be doing well. I cant do vigourous exercise for 30mins straight without going faint and breaking a cold sweat. I tried kickboxing and love it but so embarassing being unable to keep up with the rest for a straight hour sweating and feeling ill after only 30mins clinging to my water bottle

Like + comment + subscribe ( you deserve it my friend) thanks so much for the video i really need it a lot cause i spent the past 3 days riding a lot on my duke 200 ktm as a way to pass the 1k milage but it really tires my knees and back. If you have any recommendations about exercises for knees or stretching before and after driving i would be so happy to know. Thank you again.. oosssss ;)
