I'm a loyal Mr. Beer brewer (reluctantly) - largely due to space, time, and consumption constraints. Let us know how the final product turns out. I just bottled a batch of the BrewDemon IPA...so far, I've had great results adding various hops to the Mr. Beer Diablo IPA, but I'm interested in seeing how other styles of beer compare.

+Aaron Bailey I can't wait to see how it turns out. The great thing about these kits is that even when you step into all grain brewing you can still use the fermenters for smaller batches.
@TheArby134 жыл бұрын
Mr Beer deluxe refills are 5.7%. The can of Hopped lme is 2 times the size of the Brew Demon cans and with Mr Beer you get 2 packs of LME to boost the abv and mouth feel. That little can of glucose is probably equal to one Booster Pack. But it's not the LME. Mr Beer sends out powdered DEX with some maltodextrine: It is a little boost that comes in a standard refill. If you use the Brew Demon additives for a 1 gallon kit, it will come close to Mr Beer's abv for a 2 gallon batch. The value in a Brew Demon is in the fermenter. It costs about 2x what the Mr Beer LBK costs.

Thanks for the info.

hops must already be in the extract then?
@PlattR3 жыл бұрын
That is correct

Where's the best place to store the fermentation container while it works it's magic?
@PlattR2 жыл бұрын
Anywhere away from direct sunlight where the temperature doesn't fluctuate a lot.

Nice video. I'm considering buying this 2 gallon fermenter. I have a question though, can I brew using this conical flask from scratch ? (Without the already mixed recipe) by using malt and hops? Or will the tap get clogged at the bottom ?
@PlattR7 жыл бұрын
You should be fine as long as you don't use fresh hops that would clog the tap.

Can you use Brew demon kits in the Mr Beer fermenter? Seems they would be inter changeable
@PlattR2 жыл бұрын
You probably can. I think the founder of Brew Demon actually worked for Mr Beer.
@jared72115 ай бұрын
Where or when do you add hops? even looking at some recipes for this unit I see no hops?
@PlattR5 ай бұрын
They use hopped malt extract that already has the hops in it.

If I wanted to add vanilla to a stout or chocolate for that matter what is the best method and how much?
@PlattR3 жыл бұрын
Vanilla extract is probably the easiest method.

Since there's no follow up does that mean you weren't impressed with the resulting beer? Seems like it would be good idea to pour the yeast into a large spoon or measuring cup and then dump it in - so you don't risk having to fish that paper packet out of the brew and contaminating it.
@PlattR4 жыл бұрын
As far as the spoon goes, that sounds like a good idea. I thought I did a tasting video for this brew but maybe not. Brew Demon beers taste a lot like Mr Beer. Not bad but you can tell it made from malt extract.

If I leave it to ferment longer than the 7 days before bottling would the quality improve?
@PlattR2 жыл бұрын
Yes. You can give it two weeks if you like.

hello. my name is Tommy & I have the mr beer kit. I just brewed a 2gal batch of the Mexican cerveza, it came out good....but has a slight cider taste to it. I've read online that using cane sugar can cause that effect. what can I do to resolve that cider effect? please help.
@robbcart74496 жыл бұрын
Use an equal amount of corn sugar ( dextrose ) in place of the cane sugar. Available at any brew store.

So I'm on day 8 of fermenting and it looks flat. How/when does it get carbonated? I followed the directions closely. Does it get carbonated after you bottle it? Thanks!
@PlattR3 жыл бұрын
When the beer is ready to bottle, you'll kickstart carbonation up by adding a little sugar to the bottle.

I am shocked MR.BEER didn’t sue them

Something I learned when I had my own spirits company, you can't trademark or patent a recipe.
@alequez4real7634 жыл бұрын
Could you add fruits or spices to this? If so when would be the correct time to add them
@PlattR4 жыл бұрын
You could put them in the fermentor about a week into the process.

Wonder how Good this fermenter is compared to a normal 3 gal glass carboy
@PlattR7 жыл бұрын
Very similar to the fermenter used by Mr Beer. Done multiple fermentations and never had an issue.

Do you need to add sugar when bottling?
@PlattR6 жыл бұрын
You will need to add sugar, the instructions will have the amount needed per bottle size information
@VeteranCapybara6 жыл бұрын
Yes, you need a priming sugar to reactivate the leftover yeast. That is how the CO2 is formed (carbonation)
@patcasaletto82483 жыл бұрын
@@VeteranCapybara So it makes sense why mine's not carbonated while fermenting. It gets carbonated when you add sugar and bottle it, right?
