3:29 That's gotta be the fastest gear retraction I've ever seen! Is it manual? No way hydraulics could be that fast
@FrugalBuilding5 жыл бұрын
The Dyke Delta JD2 has a mechanical gear retraction that uses a lever to raise and lower the gear counterbalanced by a large spring.

I live near Compton Airport in California, and what I assume is the crashed prototype for the aircraft at 0:31 has been sitting there for as long as I can remember going there. Its wings were missing, and the prop tips were peeled back from a ground strike. I never knew it was made into an airworthy plane!

Matenkuo Sauber there are more than one flying. It’s a home built airplane. Not sure how many were built and are flying, but there where a few built throughout the years.

There were 5 Dyke Delta JD2's at Airventure this year. The Prototype is in the EAA museum and was designed in 1962. The one you saw at Compton has been rebuilt and was one of the ones in attendance at Airventure.

Would be great to get a list of the planes in order in the video description.

Here is the list of Homebuilt Aircraft participating in the Homebuilt Flyby at 2019 Airventure. Falco, Thorp T18, Long EZ, Dyke Delta JD2, Vans RV4, Vans RV 7, Glassair Sportsman, Big Toot, Little Toot, Zenith CH750, Smith Mini plane, Kitfox, Corbin Baby Ace. They are sequenced by speed with the fastest one first and the slowest one last so the they will not catch up with the one ahead.

0:10 that pilot must be pretty little. Great looking plane though
