Police would not bother you if you’re homeless as long as you’re not committing a crime In the US if you’re homeless and you’re in front of or inside businesses they’ll kick you out! Or you get arrested. Being homeless in the US is harder than being homeless in the Philippines.

Naka uwi na po siya madam. When we are talking without my camera, after I cut the recording he said to me. I am leaving next week to Manila, that was April. When I came back 2 weeks after he still there. I feel disapointed, I wonder how could he leave he has no penny. After months I thing August almost year end of 2018. He was not anymore in the hut. He already picked up by his sibling and back to Australia.

My cousin and her husband who is an Australian stay in the Philippines for only 6 months od the year, he receives retirement money while living abroad, but he has to go back to Australia every 6 months or before his six months or the support will be cut off.

Before travelling to Philippines please think that it's not always a paradise. Watching bunch of vlogs about where are the good places to go is just your "tip". Please don't travel without alternative plan just in case things go off hand. Yes, scammers like taxi drivers and gold diggers (please consider that too) is hidden behind those good pictures. My country (Philippines) "might" be a paradise to SOME and a shit hole to others. That's the reality of it. HAVE a SAFE TRAVEL And ROAM AROUND WITH CAUTION!

I know it’s very hard to be in his position but it’s not the end of the world. What would you do if you are in his shoes? For me I think I would use all my talents to get a job and get me out of the hole and start over. Now, the obvious part is his in the foreign country and he can speak very well in English. I would use that to be a private tutor to whoever wants to be educated and how to speak fluently in English. The other thing is if the healthy condition is fine, he could do a thousand things. If there’s a will, there’s a way....

Meanwhile, BI agents arrested in Siquijor last week an Australian for overstaying in the country for two years. BI intelligence chief Fortunato Manahan Jr. identified the alien as 53-year-old Matthew Joseph Maurer. Manahan said Morente issued the mission order for Maurer’s arrest based on information from local government officials in San Juan, Siquijor. It was gathered that the Australian arrived on July 10, 2016, and did not bother to update his stay when his visa expired on November that year.

The only good thing about being homeless in the Philippines is that it is always hot, you will never feel cold outside, but that's about it. For a lot of homeless foreigners there is another issue and that's visa overstay. You cannot leave the country until you have paid all fines and the Philippines have no land borders so you cannot even escape

I don't think he's telling the truth as an educated man like lawyer or diplomat. Because as a real homeless lawyer, he should be shameful to say :"I'm a lawyer". @Keem no , common sense buddy . I came to the Philippines with savings at 57 And after 1 1/2 years ,with plenty of savings left I knew I couldn't stay with a out income . So I went back and worked 60 hours a week until I had enough for a early union pension . I had to forfeit 3 % for every year before 65. Being able to get out of the rat race was more important and to enjoy my life . Then I lived 2 years within my means on that little pension until my social security kicks in a few months . Just common sense . I worked everything from hard farm larbour ,to factory's to certified crane operator . I know what it is to struggle financially . I'm careful . Frugal and enjoying my days here . A few beers at a time . I won't go broke or fall on my ass because Ill make sure of it .
