I remember when that video first came out! I'm really surprised how well the coroplast + tape construction did, really withstood the test of time. So cool to see an update. Thanks Paul!

Indeed. Looking back on the life of this project, from conception to build and use, it's sad to make it a memory.

Paul … I continue to thank you for hours of entertainment and educational videos!!!! I’m getting ready to take an extended vacation then I’m thinking about ordering a plan or two from you. Love what you do!!! It is my fervent hope that all is well and good with you and your family!!! Until your next video and beyond, take care, be safe, all my best and God bless!!! Thanks Chuck for your kind words. There were so many different magazines and books in the past that contributed to the DIY person. Those were food for my insatiable desire to think of new things. I'm just trying to keep the hands-on philosophy going.

My new truck distributor broke on installation. My remote audio mike lasted several uses. I can go on and on. I agree. It reminds me of the stories I heard from a Croatian immigrant who lived in communist Tito times. Everything was made to last only so long.

@@paulwelkinsdiy Oh you got that right! Everything new seems to be junk! My 1990 GMC 1500 has about 360k miles and the ignition control module finally quit… With the original engine and transmission!!! Over the years Ive only replaced about a dozen parts and she still runs like a top. My brother’s 2014 Ram died at about 140k and needed a new transmission. Seriously? I sure hope communism don’t happen here.

If it's useful building material at a good price you can bet it will stop being made or the price will go up so much that it's not reasonable anymore.

I use to buy Coro sheets for $14, even in different colors. It is and always has been supply and demand. It's the capitalist way.

First time seeing this stuff.. So did a homeless person actually live in that thing? Would like to hear what they would say about it and how much time and they lived in it... I've had a little experience with these street dwellers and they have to guard everything they have from being stolen. How were they able to manage that for all those years?
@maxboonkittypoison Жыл бұрын
Oh wel. some materials go and some new ones wil take their place. I like the poor mans fiberglas but then downgrade it to much lower budged. Like the cotton sheet you'd put on the matras of your bed and than put some kind of mixture of gorrilla glue wood glue. But i am thinking about changing that into something cheaper and just as durable and strong. But that is also light weight and darn cheap. I know that epoxy is out of my price range.
@paulwelkinsdiy Жыл бұрын
You too are looking for the ultimate building material. It's got to be something that's readily available in the land fill. I like this guy. kzbin.info/www/bejne/rGa8c2CIg5ilaqM He's been doing some amazing experiments in his videos.

before i vent some unrelated frustrtion, i gotta say, i am a long time subscriber, loving your content and ingenuity. you've been a wee little bit of a parasocial father for me for quite some time. and seeing just HOW long gorilla tape tape holds up to it's promises, i'd much rather see a legit 3 minute payed promotiion about that, including lone time experience, over shitty adds youtube is forcing on addblocking EU citizes since about a week. "von 2 ehemaligen ingeneuren entwickelt" .. alles klar! (right .. developed by 2 former engineers. i wonder how they lost their jobs, selling subscription based wifi security cams, that my guinea pig cook hack into ... i wonder! ) NGL: shitty, insincere, language tageted YT adds are pissing disgrace over honourable content creators, such as this fine man.
