Sure she does, yeah. What you are seeing, is not a person who is exercising her selflessness, it is actually the opposite. She owes it to herself, and society to take responsibility for whatever issues she has, regarding mental health and addiction. Being coddled is a small part of her problem, the bigger part is the untreated mental health issues, and addiction. She has a degree. She has opportunity. Give me a break. We don’t get to quit on ourselves.

A good film that shows ANYONE can find themselves homeless all it takes is the right chain of events as Jessy says she was from a well to do family and after experiencing health issues from a young age she found herself veering off the rails but was able to get back on track and had great Successes in her personal and professional life. She has now found herself homeless and disconnected from her family ties although she is clearly an articulate and highly capable intelligent person you can't help but notice her pain, I do hope you manage to reconnect with your family it might be a tough initial contact but it is always best to make the effort whilst the option is there. Best Wishes from the UK.

She severed her family ties because of the pressure of their expectations. It was easier for her to just be alone and homeless than cope with that pressure. Her folks need to understand depression and how people with that condition find coping strategies like drugs and alcohol to try to banish their demons. Such a shame really.
@battlehymnoftheempath36103 жыл бұрын
Its strange how that sort of pressure can get to anyone. I have a very destructive family and always thought if I had loving parents, id be in a better spot, but clearly that isnt always true. Sometimes people are just depressed, and find it harder to find meaning.

She seems like a highly inteligent individual. And from listening to the interview, the most honest thing she stated was self destruction. Which she cannot blame no one but herself for the current situation she’s in. Blind people work that I personally know off, people in wheelchairs work, cause they’re very concerned what their future will be like. Bottom line it's only what they’ve made it to be. When she gets to a certain age, no one will hire her for a descent pay, or at all. And welfare is and will continue to be uncertain. It is awkward that people don’t want to secure themselves for the future. With what she stated she should have a high paying job, not lose time that flies by very fast. Relying on boyfriends, or friends in general is a total waste, sad for her, and yet unsafe, and reality that had not totally kicked in.

@@susanbrown2909 The whole point of amazing life stories like Jessy's being shared here, showing every strength and every vulnerability of them, is not to provide us with short, easy to digest narratives. Most government agencies can't or won't help! I've known people with p.h.d. degrees that are homeless! The advancement of technology has put them out of work. The biggest factor may be that they become disabled or sick. Also the overwhelming misconception of ordinary people!
