Oh, I just love all these recipes for "Baked Beans" that aren't baked. These look delicious. I am going to try these soon as I have shelf room (there is only 2 of us, although I do try to give some away).

It is nice to have Homemade Canned Baked Beans instead of buying the store-bought Baked Beans in the Can. You can have fun adjusting the final product flavors when heating up or Baking these Beans in the oven for serving as well! I'm sure others will enjoy you sharing your Homemade Baked Beans as well! Thanks for Watching!

Your beans look and sound so delicious. I was planning to can up some beans tomorrow, now I know which kind they will be. Last year I picked up a big electric roaster to make beef bone broth. It was $21 at Walmart. Aroma brand.

They really are! These beans make a nice addition to the pantry shelf. :) I hope you have fun making a big batch of Baked Beans with your electric roaster oven! Thanks for Watching!

I'm going to have to try this out. I noticed in your recipe page though that you have the amounts for sugar listed as Worcestershire Sauce, so I had to double check the amounts by watching the video again.

Great - I hope you enjoy the recipe! These are really tasty Baked Beans; we've been enjoying them already, but I can't wait until BBQ Season to have them at cookouts too! Thank you for catching that - the Recipe Printout on my Website has been corrected! :) Thanks for Watching!

I just started canning three days ago!! Just water bath canning for now. I’ve been planning on canning baked beans, which is one of my favorite foods!! How do you thicken up the sauce? If you leave it like it is, it’s more of a baked bean soup! Also, I think you should can your left over sauce! It looks delicious!! ❤❤❤ blessings to you!
@TheHomeinHomestead7 ай бұрын
That's great! Have fun canning :) When I go to prepare my Baked Beans for eating, I will either heat them in a Saucepan & maybe add some BBQ Sauce if I want a spicy flare. Or I place them in a Baking Dish (sometimes adding some bacon strips) and bake in the oven until a nice, thick baked bean result! Thanks for Watching!

Those look awesome! For the spicy ones, I might add a can of Chipotle sauce! It’s not too spicy but has great flavor!

Excellent video. Very informative and enjoyable to watch and hear your narration. My only reservation is that it looks very thin. Does it thicken up a lot?
@TheHomeinHomestead Жыл бұрын
Thank you! Yes, the beans do thicken up once processed and when you prepare them (Bake or heat up to serve). They are a really Tasty Baked Bean; I hope you enjoy the recipe & canning them. Thanks for Watching!

I just found your channel. These beans looks delish. Does the sauce thicken after processing or do you have to thicken it when you’re going to use it?
@TheHomeinHomestead5 ай бұрын
The sauce does thicken slightly with processing, but the final preparation of heating/baking brings the nice thick Baked Beans you're looking for! Thanks for Watching!

Hi, thank you for your video, I am new, so I want to make sure I understand, I don't do anything to thicken the sauce you put into the beans? Do the beans thicken the sauce because they still have cooking to do? Thank you, suzie
@TheHomeinHomestead Жыл бұрын
Hi Suzie. Yes, the Sauce both thickens as it cooks with the beans as well as once the beans are Processed (Pressure Canned) in the Jars. When you heat the Baked Beans up or bake them for serving, they are a delicious, thick sauced Baked Bean! I hope you enjoy the Recipe as well as have fun Canning your own Baked Beans! :) Thanks for Watching!

Will have to try this.....since you more or less precook the beans...is that why you don't use the normal processing time of 75 min for pint jars? Thanks
@TheHomeinHomestead Жыл бұрын
I hope you enjoy these Baked Beans (Navy Beans in a Molasses Sauce). Yes, the Beans are soaked & cooked; the Processing time for Baked Beans is - Pint Jars 65 min & Quart Jars 75 min. Perhaps you are thinking of traditional Beans? The National Center for Home Food Preservation has some nice tables with Processing Times for reference. Thanks for Watching!

Don’t forget to put the round aluminum tray in the bottom of the pressure canner so the glass jars don’t touch the bottom of the pot. Too much direct heat on those jars can cause them to break.
@TheHomeinHomestead Жыл бұрын
Yes, I agree (I mention this @13:28), and most stovetop Pressure Canners like the one used in the video come with 2 Jar Trays/Racks for doing double layers! (Like we did in the video as well) You can really fit a lot of jars in those style Pressure Canners & efficiently can many jars of tasty Baked Beans! :) Thanks for Watching!

How mushy ate these beans?
@TheHomeinHomestead9 ай бұрын
These beans are not mushy and hold up well. Unlike a Pinto Bean that tend to get mushy & are great for Refried Beans. I would also consider using a Great Northern Bean if you are unable to find Navy Beans. Thanks for Watching!
