Hi. I just found 1 type of glycerin - 100% natural from palm tree, that using to making soap or skincare. Wether I can use that glycerin to make bioplastic too ? Thank you.

Id be interested in using something like this to make a cover for plants. I wonder could this plastic be used in panels of a polytunnel. Itd have to withstand rain sun and wind. So id be keen to experiment with it myself

Can you make a solid, like a cube or dice, by cutting or shredding the film and heating the pieces inside a mold?

Hello bro, I tried to make the biodegradable plastic of corn starch for my science fair from your video but the results were not the same as you showed... The result were like less strength of plastic, plastic not coming of the tray, plastic not dissolving in water etc. ... I copied everything you did and said, even the quantities, but just used steel pots for heating, and one hole was open when I put it up on the other pot from which the air was escaping... Once, when I made a plastic and let it to set for some days, it started cracking up after some hours and came out to become cracky, it was not flexible but was looking like hard plastic... I tried to make the right plastic for about a month or more but then the school's science fair came and I was not able to show the biodegradability of the plastic to people and they made fun of me that I had no evidence that the plastic was biodegradable... Do you know what mistake I may have made or what problems may have been created in the plastic for not showing the desired results... BTW even if my project was not that good, I won and got a shield from school, Thanks for that, I have become a great fan of you, I watch every single video of you to get more knowledge about biodegradable plastics, I watch every single of your comments and your replies on them to increase my knowledge even more, again thanks for your videos, I really love them... Regards, A big fan ❤

Hi there, steel pots should be fine, from the problems you are describing, It sounds like you should add more glycerin, I'm guessing. Don't be discouraged if it takes a lot of trial and error! Most of the experiments I make fail miserably, even with the knowledge that other people have shared online. Best of luck with your projects :)

@@giestas thanks for replying back, I would try to make more of the biodegradable plastics like you do, making bioplastics has become a fun thing for me to do whenever I'm free... BTW love your videos and efforts that you put in to make these videos, I really appreciate you making these videos, Would try making more of them from watching your videos..

When we tried this bioplastic and tested the water permeability, we were curious if we can reuse it. We tried sundrying the wet bioplastic, and of course it did turn to what it was before but quite wrinkled. Never did this cross my mind! Very cool indeed.

My bioplastic started cracking up after 48 hours of drying with fan assistance. Why ?
@giestas2 ай бұрын
It's difficult to say because it never happened to me, but sometimes cracks mean not enough glycerin.
