I found a cherry pitter at Aldi a few years ago. Best $2 investment I’ve ever made. It does brake down from time to time but I pop parts back into place and it keeps pitting. The little pitter that could.

Just so you know, cherry season is early July. You can even pick your own. Right now ours are all seeded and in the freezer. This season's harvest was wonderfully prolific, and my wife and I put cherries away like there is no tomorrow.

Made this with her pie crust recipe and it was delicious! I think I should’ve got rid of the extra juice after pitting the cherries because the filling didn’t set, but that’s user error. Either way it tasted great!

Ive never had cherry pie, its just never called to me the way other pies do but this looks incredible! With the almond extract it will taste a bit like a cherry bakewell which I love so no doubt this will taste fantastic.
