In this video I wanted to show you guys how to make your own “fancy” clutch hub tool for removing the clutch hub from your Shovelhead. My dad has made a few of these in the past, but always gives them away to friends haha. So it’s my turn to make one this time!
For anyone who want's to send me pictures of their bikes:
PLEASE SEND LARGE CLEAR PHOTOS!
1080p x 1080p is the MINIMUM we can work with, so please do your best at making sure your photos are large and not blurry 🙂 And send more than one if you can as well!
Email pictures to: redrider.canada.bc@gmail.com
Only motorcycle related emails please - sorry, but I just don't have the time to engage in personal conversations.
Thank you for your understanding.
If you DON'T want your bike highlighted in a future video showing viewers bikes then make sure to mention it in your email. Other than that, expect to see your bike in one of my videos!
If you would like my PO BOX address you can find it in the description to my channel by following this link:

Thank You Miss Angel, As a carpenter I have always made jigs and job specific benches of good hardwoods. Having a touch of class in your tools makes you take better care of them. For wrenching I do the same. Machinist dye is an old man's friend for visibility where cutting and shaping is critical. Take pride in home built tools and jigs, it is what separates us from the plinkers. I sent you an email with pics of my camper being rained on here in Missouri. Taking a break from traveling to "money up" by doing some carpentry work. It's making me feel old though, these young ones on the crew don't even know what a (slick) is or how to use it. I was hired to hand cut Cedar beams and a truss for the front of a house. No ugly steel brackets, just mortise and tenon joints to hold the truss together in place. Not as much as riding, but I love woodworking. With Love and Respect You are in my prayers Hoka Hey

Well you're welcome Van. And thank you! I have always loved homemade tools because they end up being one-of-a-kind lots of the time. I especially love tools that are made for doing a very specific job on a very specific custom vehicle or piece of equipment haha.

"Everybody's favorite motorcycle friend"... That was funny. Nice work. I've always put the bike in gear and ran a chain through the side of the sprocket and around the swing arm. But I'm guessing that the gears in the gearbox probably don't like that too much; which makes me cringe every time I do it.

Excellent video, and well enjoyed, thanks. At 7:14 when you are setting up the new tool to be re-drilled, before you turn on the power to the drill press, rotate the work piece so it contacts the upright column (frame) of the drill press. Many people have been seriously injured (lose fingers) when their drill bit suddenly jams in the hole causing the work piece to swing around. If you are already in contact with the drill press column before you start drilling, the work piece can't swing around to injure you.

If I tried to record something it would all be bloopers and editing would be an all-day chore. I am planning on going to the Forgotten Angeles campout this fall, hopefully see you there. I made something similar for the crank nut. It’s a round plate with a handle, the round plate has 6 bolts sticking out which fit behind the 6 block on the inside of the clutch basket and prevent it from rotating. With the basket locked and the primary chain/belt present you can now do up or loosen the crank nut.

Just as I suspected, I did learn something ha ha. Thanks for making such a wonderful bid really well done. My dad used to have a shop, that I could’ve done all kinds of things like that when I was a kid, but he was not a motorcycle enthusiast. We did heating and air conditioning. We had drill presses and lays and welders make pretty much whatever you want.
