Jerry that looks delicious and I have changed the way I live as well. It's just me since 2018 when my husband passed away from cancer. Me and my 3 dogs and 2 cats. I have canned tomatoes from 2019 I am still using. God is good all the time.

Thank you thank you for this simple video! My father grew up poor and said they ate so much potato soup. He then would make it for myself and siblings. I have never seen anyone make crackers. Jerry your videos are just the best! Thank you

Howdy Brother- I love your philosophy of living the simpler life. The tator soup sounds good on a cold day. Easy recipe for making crackers. May have to give that a try. Take care and God’s blessings to y’all

I just saw this , after becoming a Subscriber. I actually said that Prayer with you, because it's a Truth. Thank you. I really like Potato Soup, my Grandmother taught me how to make it ,she was born in the late 1800's., and they were not wealthy, but did ok, but she was always frugal. She also made homemade crackers. ..yes, you want a somewhat tender but not overly heavy cracker. She rarely measured , except for certain recipes. My own Ancestry is from Ireland ( mostly) and some English. .. so I know what you were referring to. That is funny ..." I don't like my hamburger overcooked till its dry "... 🙂😁 (I like my ground meat kinda well done, lol...that's me. ) I gave you Grace on that, Mr. Jerry. :)

Will you plant a garden this summer? I would love to see that, be sure to plant herbs because they are super easy to grow. I grow a 1 acre garden! You should think about building an underground root cellar. Your potatoes will keep all winter into spring!

Ya me and my buddy make potato soup when we are out in the woods sometimes and add chicken both, it warms you to the bone in the cold, last time I did potatoes and rice and mix bread into it, I just cooked beer battered salmon over the fire the other day out hiking, don’t worry man I eat like the pioneers too I eat a lot of chicken and pork it’s cheap, I don’t eat out much, I like to make my food

I really think you need to do door stopers, slits of wood that would compensate the gaps of the door relatively to its frame, althoug I'm aware that could reduce the draft in the fireplace. Feel free to say why I'm wrong, and amazing work that you did, much respect and a big hug. I'm now turned a religious person, after questioning it from the begining, because I realised now that I can not define morality... and either no one

The door is ship lapped and I don’t worry about air coming in. I also have 100 year old single pane windows. It’s 25°f out now and my house is 60°f. I can build a fire in the potbelly and it would be 70° in 5 minutes. My gas bill is $0.
